Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I finally got around to spraying the black and clear on my cowl today. I was going to do it yesterday, but got talked into putting a drive axle in one of my brothers cars in the afternoon and it turned into a real pain.

    Making a few Changes

Thanks, I know @acerc has been wanting that. Now what we need is some build'n action! Maybe a @Terryscustom original or maybe a @sensei custom build!

    Making a few Changes

A few of the guys wanted to separate the ARF assembly threads from the kit and scratch builds. There was even a poll some where. It might be something to think about.

    Aluminum vs. Carbon Stab tube

I have a cut off tube here that came from Aeroworks that is 8 5/8" long, .035 wall and .623 diameter. It weighs .52 ounces. It's actually a stab tube made for their 150 size planes. You should be able to get close on a weight with that.

Some where I have a piece of 16mm I could weigh for you if I can find it. That's in the ball park for your size.

    Making a few Changes

I'm here all the time and I have to say I really don't notice anything different because all I use is the Alerts tab, watched thread and new posts buttons, so a lot of this talk is going over my head.

    Aluminum vs. Carbon Stab tube

It's worth it in the tail since the weight savings is multiplied by 4 give or take and stab tubes are cheap.

I personally love the Alerts in the upper right corner. I makes a quick way to check if someone replied to you.

    Gyro's for planes

Why do you use a gyro in your Heli's? It's not necessary. Helicopters flew for years without them. My Mini Boy back in 1985 didn't have one and it flew. You use one now because it makes the helicopter fly so much better, it's no different in an airplane. It's just technology, no different that...

    Gyro's for planes

I've been running a Bavarian Demon Cortex for several years now in one of my 50cc airplanes and love it! I've let a few others fly it and they've all like it as well. What I like is if you didn't tell someone it was there, they most likely wouldn't know. The way I have the gain set it just...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

Since the cowl gets smaller as it goes forward every one is a slightly different size. I masked the line at the rear where I wanted the checkers to stop, then I measured around the cowl in the back and divided that by the number of checkers I wanted then marked them with a pencil. I then...

    Sunday night GSN Update

That's what I see on the phone as well. Top and bottom, and they move around as you scroll and cover things. And if I try to push the X to kill them my fat fingers usually hit the wrong place. ;)
