The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Aint that the truth. I bought the correct tube from Aeroworks for an Aeroworks airplane and it was way to big. Some are way heavier than others as well. The 40mm tube I bought for my Carf Extra only weighed 1.2oz less than the aluminum. That was an expensive ounce.

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I've been reading and watching everything I can find on building a fiberglass fuselage. Techniques and opinions on how to do it are all over the map. As are opinions on resins, what some people love other people hate. But I'm in no hurry to decide.

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I finished sanding the cowl tonight. All that's left is to reprime the hatch. I'm almost out of excuses to start painting this thing. I'm planning on taking the hatch to the shop tomorrow and squirting some primer on it. I think I'll take the cowl with me and paint the white for the checkers...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

Nice! Fly that thing! Mine would be similar to this Krill Spark, only bigger and the chin of the cowl wouldn't be so sloped back. I would also use a normal rudder, not their style with the splayed out trailing edge.

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

Well my mind wanders, well that's an understatement. :LOL_gif: Over the past months I've messed with ideas for a 90" P-40B, a 80" Culp Special, a 80 Tipo (Classic Pattern Plane) and two other 50cc pattern airplanes. I'm really wanting to do a fiberglass fuselage, so I think a 50cc Pattern...

    3D JAG's 35% Carden Edge

Jag are your sure about the accuracy of your CG rig your using there? I could be very wrong, but that doesn't look like an accurate way to do it to me. But like I said I could be wrong.

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I've got everything pretty much ready to paint. I'm need to reprime the hatch and after that do the final sanding on it and the cowl and it will all be ready. I could of had it ready already, but I've been in a crappy mood after work lately. The last thing I need is for it to tick me off and...

    3D JAG's 35% Carden Edge

You could put him back in headless ;) it would make a good conversation piece. :lol2: I made the mistake of painting the hair black on a cheap pilot years ago, the sun melted a hole in the top of his head.;)

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Been there, done that. When I'm just not feeling it I can't think of things I want to try and just waste most of the flight flying around. Then other times your so into it it seems like the timer starts beeping right after you took off.

Frank Tiano, Candidate for AMA President

I'm in, I have never voted in the past, because for the most part I thought the AMA ran fairly smooth. But, I think they really dropped the ball on the drone issue. The day I had to "register my drone" with the FAA when I don't have a "drone" really ticked me off. I'm from a family of political...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I hear ya, the "feels like" temperature here is already 96 at 9:15 in the morning. I texted my flying buddy and told him I'm wimping out today. He's coming by later to check out my scratch build project then we're going to lunch to talk about flying.;)

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Not much going on in the home workshop lately. But today I finally finished the Viper that has been the bane of my existence for a while now. It was just one of those jobs that took way longer than it ever should have and it's been interfering with my airplane projects.;) Hopefully now I can get...
