Been working on an inexpensive electric ARF conversion. It's for a new friend I have made. He is a retired crop duster and flew air tractors for quite some time. I got him maiden on his first gasser (30cc Redwing slick). This is a very light built 70" span Edge 540. Putting an RCGF 26cc gasser...

LoL. The only thing really growing on me now is my age. I do however seem to have grown less patient about radio choices:face-palm:. Because I CHEAP! lol

I think I was referring to the "compatability" issue of the Turnigy I-10. Have since parted ways with it. Wanted to get the Horus but ended up getting the new G2 DX8. I'm liking the DX8 :).

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Finally got out Memorial day and Maiden my Pilot 26% Extra 330sc that I had converted (from electric) back to a gasser with a 10 year old DL 50 on a cheap China can. Now I did do some work on the engine (upper end brg, front brg, ring, drive hub, shaft adaptor, carb rebuild. hall sensor) but boy...

Spent all day and most the evening getting the radio and batteries installed in the extra. Got it all finished with a preliminary balance. Batteries are charged and the fuel tank is full. Went to do a pre flight tune with the cowl off and what do ya know. I must have cracked the spark plug...

    Finally got a trailer...

Yep!:I_agree: Trailers are hard to beat. But I have become "accustomed" to the "second hand youth athlete transportation medium" more commonly known as "Soccer Mom Van". Took the hub caps off and it looks BAD ASS. Don't touch the trim! Gota get sum stickers fer it ......

Raining most the day and weekend so some time spent learning more about the DX8 G2. In the Acro menu there is a "Bipe"model / wing type too! Me like. You can set up spoilerons for those neat short landings. May just have to throw a couple of servos to the top wing of the rock star and make it...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

Saw that F-14 one year at "Rally of the Eagles" at Holly Field in Florida. Had the PB Bunny on it. I distinctively remember that day because It was the first time I met Both "Bobs".

Tanner, I have mounted the ignition modules inside many airframes (My 87" edge being closet to thro servo @ 1" away) and NEVER had any problems . Just make sure the shielded plug wires do not touch anything metal. Looks as if you did a great job there:attaboy:.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

It's not a safety issue at my old club. 3Ders , Jet Guy's, Heli, Sportsman, Scale and novice pilots etc have all done a real good job following established club rules and all AMA rules. It is more of a frequent type of plane and their pilots vs infrequent type of plane and their pilots...

It should. It was nice and solid. If you watched the FB vid you could tell I was having difficulty turning the plane. Almost hit the power pole. Had switched to high rate and buried the elevator stick just to get it to barely turn or flare when landing. Everything else was fine (rudder, aileron...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Main reason I'm going out flying a chunk of Foam is because the rhetoric I'm hearing is hitting oh so close to home :big_yes:. The field I used to fly at is "All ELECTRIC NOW" for gaseous reasons :steamer:. Have not rejoined .
