The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I'm trying to decide what airplane I'm taking to the field Sunday since it's supposed to be 98. I really want to fly my Carf Extra and see if the GP61 is running better, but having trouble when it's that hot really sucks. So, I'm thinking of taking my Pilot Edge since the old DA always runs.

    Servo Jitter during movement

I also use an 11x an have never had that problem. How much jittering are we talking about. The reason I ask was I was thinking if it's a transmitter issue if you could see it on the monitor screen on the 11x. Have you tried the 11x on any other airplanes or any other servos?

Depends on the size of your garage. I have a 28' x 30' building with a 10' ceiling that I cool with a 24,000 btu 220 volt window unit. It does a pretty good job most days, but when it's 100 and humid I also run a 12,000 btu 110 volt unit. My building is insulated, but not all that well.

The airplane was built 11 years ago by a friend. It was originally powered by a DA50 that was mounted this way per the instructions. With the location of the wing tube on this model the only practical way to use a canister is to mount it like this.

IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

Welcome to my world where a pint of basecoat can be $100 or more. A long way from the $17 pints when I started in the body shop business. You can thank the EPA and greed.;)

I took my GP61 powered Carf Extra to my shop yesterday to tune on it a little since I just went through the carb. I started with the needles at 1 1/2 for both high and low. By the time I was done I was right back where I started before going through the carb at 2 3/8 on the low and a little over...

Speaking as a guy that just pulled a 24000 btu unit out of the wall to clean it I can tell you it sure felt like 2 tons to me, and I had the supposed light side.:lol2: All I could think when we were putting it back in the wall was I'm getting too old for this.

    Headers, who makes them?

All of my stuff was bought from Chief or DA. I bought an MTW canister not long ago, but I can't remember if that was from Chief or DA, one or the other. I had another thought, Aircraft International sells header parts. http://www.aircraftinternational.com/Products/Exhaust/KSCustomHeaderParts.aspx

The club I'm in now has one on the property as well. If someone didn't tell you where it is you would probably never notice it.

It only takes a couple of punks to ruin it for everyone.

At my previous club if we had an event we had to have a porta-john brought in for the day and picked up before dark. If not it would be destroyed. We found that out after they burnt the first one to the ground and blew the second one up.
