The I'm going out flying thread 2016

No flying for me this weekend. We're in the April weather pattern where you get three things, sun, wind, rain. The problem is you get at least two of those at once. :(

    Glassing and Painting techniques

+1 And I'll add one more thing. If you sand base before you clear it will turn very dark where you sand it, and if it's a metallic color it really turns to crap.

The Mejzliks I've painted on in the past were loaded with tiny pinholes so getting them smooth without adding a bunch of material will be fun. But I've been seeing a polished aluminum prop on this thing in my mind since I started on it.

Very cool Terry! I really liked the spinner. Have you ever heard of painting the backside being an issue? They reason I ask is I'm planning on painting a Mejzlik 22 x 10 and 23 x 8 I have for my scratchbuild project with a chrome paint process that I've used many times in the past on other...

Scale Question..How many EXPERIMENTAL builders out there?

There was a guy, Al, that ran a body shop right next to mine that built two airplanes, a Skybolt and an SE-5 in his garage at home. His house was only a few blocks away so I used to go by and check out his progress all the time. Very cool stuff!. The Skybolt was destroyed in a crash when his son...

No work in my workshop today, but after a nice lunch a friend and I spent the afternoon working on his Carf 35% Extra 330SC. He's never been big on radio set ups so I lent him a hand. This setup is a bit more complicated because he wanted to try Bavarian Demon Cortex gyro. Since the Cortex...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

The covering is done! I still want to turn up the heat on the iron a little and go over all the edges again, but it's on to priming after that.
