IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

Finishmasters just bought the paint store I deal with for my bodyshop. Evidently they have quite a few stores and are expanding. The store I deal with was part of a small St. Louis area chain they bought out.

An even more important tip is to never try and catch a falling hobby knife. :oblong:

    Drilling out hinge points

These are Aeroworks Yak 54 wings that I added a custom tip to for a project I'm working on. They still have the stock hinges glued in in this picture. The blocks are too narrow to just move the hinge over.

Tachometers - what do you use?

I use a 30 year old Futaba FP-DT1 tach that just refuses to die. You would think with as much glow fuel it soaked up back in the day adjusting the length of tuned pipes, it should be dead by now, but it still works great. I almost pulled the trigger on a Fromeco several times, but just haven't...

IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

Looking really good! Nice use of the side grip Cleco's by the way. I use them at work, but never thought of using them on a model airplane.

Looks nice! Those small checkers have a memorizing effect. It's like one of those internet eye tests. ;)

    Drilling out hinge points

My reason for not doing that is on an ARF like an Aeroworks there is a balsa block on the back side that the hinge goes into. If you move the hinge you would miss the balsa block. It's easy enough to add in an open bay, but when it's sheeted you can't do that.

I spent most of the evening messing with my computer. I've been having problems with my video card for awhile now so tonight I finally changed it. After a few hours of fiddling I finally got everything working again....... at least I think. I spent the last hour trying to get the video card to...

Liking black wheels seems to be an age thing. I'm 54 and I'm not a fan, but younger guys love them. A friend and I were talking about that today since he's going to order a new Z06 Corvette in a few weeks. He's my age and says no black wheels for him either.;)

IMAC practice tips for new pilots.

Earle don't you know your not supposed to have fun while competing? There was a guy at our local dragstrip that thought it was just terrible that we went to have fun, win or lose. "It's a competition, your not supposed to enjoy it" was his motto. Mine on the other hand was winning is great, but...
