1/4” adhesive heat shrink tubing. Or marine heat shrink tubing. Should be lots online from multiple sources. I bought a kit on amazon. Ginsco 270Pcs 3:1 Shrink Ratio Dual Wall Adhesive Lined https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073R69KNB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_JBjHDb7Q4E318 Found that I use the 1/4” and...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Glad to hear it survived shipment! Note there is a bunch of tristock included with the plane for the electric motor mount to use for bracing the gas engine. I’m using Futaba gear, so I couldn’t advise on the setup.

Something about long runs of wire to the tail and 22AWG just bugged me. So 20AWG from Hanson hobbies to the rescue. I’m crazy... I know. Brushless servos are very efficient. But it made my mind rest easy for some silly reason... so BEHOLD!! Hours of measuring, crimping, heat shrinking and...

Put some snakeskin looming on the elevator servos and screwed them in place. The looming is from TDRC... if you haven’t heard they are closing I’m running out of 1/4” heat shrink tubing with adhesive... need to go to the store and try and find some more... meanwhile an order online is coming.

Put the axels and wheels on. Note how the axel is stepped and super neat. I added the washer behind the nut.

It’s my first GP, and other than the baby RCGF21T it’s my first real twin. It’s also my first 70cc. Until the Timber I have never owned anything over 35cc.

Finished up my tail wheel. I lied about the last of the epoxy ha ha. Just a dab O.K.!!! Scuffed up and made a few notches for the epoxy to bite into. The hole shape matches the flats on the ball link... clever. It is bottomless so excess epoxy will fall into the void FYI. I’ve been trying a...

Honestly I don’t think I will split it. I’d like that option, but for me it may be just too much work and I’d like it in the air by October.... I’ve come across a couple bumps. They sent me two of the same landing gear cuffs, and one set of ball links do not go in strait. Tim has ball links in...

Tried to see if the GP came with stand offs... nope. Opened up my Ignition module and found a cut through the battery lead Hmmm so with some quick work I crimped on a new plug. Makes me wonder though. No idea what the black marker mark stands for either.

Here are a couple pics of the Full Scale ARS300. You can see the colorscheme is pretty scale except orange instead of a deep red. I'm finding it's very hard to locate the full scale aircraft. Actual French aircraft registry states this is S/N1 and the MFGR is Ducreux-Foulon which I believe to be...

Time to talk about the powerplant! GP76 !! Same bolt pattern as the DA60 which is marked on the firewall for drilling which is a bonus. Very excited to try out this twin! Marked the DA-60 holes. I’ll need to check my standoffs for prop clearance. Appears to be 7” firewall to spinner...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

That is so cool it was your old car back in the day. I had a friend with a 69 auto fastback that said you'd think it would be a chick magnet, but was actually an old guy magnet... "I used to have one just like her! Cant believe I sold her..." HA HA After all that hard work, pick a nice paint...

Time to admire the quality again. The elevator trim on the bottom towards the leading edge is under/overlapped by the top covering. Very nice. Check out the perfect alignment of the control horn to the servo arm slot. If the nut wasn’t on and the bevel didn’t keep it from rotating, it would...

Drilled some servo mount pilot holes, tapped, and cured with CA. I am thankful they didn’t pre-fab pilot holes as they never seem to work with whatever brand servo I end up with. Not a lot of room for my dremel, had to use a pencil vice to drill the elevator servo pilot holes. Held the servo...

Me too!! Spent a great deal of time deciding for myself if it was going to be a good purchase for me. Usually it makes sense to support the companies based here in the USA like AJ Aircraft, Extreme Flight, and PAU. There has been a lot of debate about intellectual property and whether SkyWing...
