Elevator Pins. Basically they hold a sliding latch that keeps the screws in place, so the elevators won’t fly off the tube. They hold them close to the fuse

Here is a photo flood of the magnetic pins. Very innovative and awesome. The magnet captured, so even if the glue fails it’s not going anywhere. The canopy has to slide slightly back and up to come off. No more dowels wearing out in the canopy or latch failures. Carbon T-Pins up front, center...

Fitting some servos in place. There is a little panel for you to knock out that shows the servo arm and orientation to put it in. Kind of clever! For the rudder, push pull, you’ll have to remove the covering from the slot over where the arrow is. Presto! Another knockout panel with the servo...

Some of the goodies. Combo deal when purchased with the plane you get 10% off wohooooo. I like a good deal. I’ve seen some recent posts of people saying the 1267 is dying under stress tests. May end up changing this out. But who knows. I’m thinking without a metal linkage it will be fine. As...

I was going to purchase this plane this July, and when I called Tim, he told me someone had just purchased the last TWO in this scheme... I was devastated! Rest assured, he had another batch on the water and reserved it for me. It became a little delayed but it worked out perfectly as my Timber...

Sounds Good! The weather here has started to show signs of gale force winds, and rain... so unless it shapes up, I'll be waiting to get the maiden done...

And a lot of it is thin and has a piece of ply in the middle. Light, and brilliant! A lot of people fear that carbon is too heavy to compete with ply, but when there are big lightening holes and a thin sandwiched ply with carbon it works!

Control Horns. This is the only epoxy that I will need to mix up for this build... that’s a crazy thought. I will use whatever extra to reinforce a couple joints. Like all the other MFGRs you’ll have to scruff them up and in this case remove some of the plastic. I scruffier up with 100 grit...

Took some time to wick in some strategic CA. Hardened the wood screw holes, and hit the joints that appeared to need it the most. SkyWing used a lot of glue! Not like my Timber on bit. Very pleased with most of the joints. A couple little defects, but not bad at all!!

The I'm NOT going out flying thread.

For Real! He took responsibility was very honest about what happened. Feel bad for the guy, but to see the support he has (even from his wife!) gives me faith in humanity again. Yup, many folks find it easy to blame others and other things for their mistakes. It's easy to do, and unfortunately...

Decided to play with the gear first after looking over this super cool airframe. Put the CF Main Landing Gear on. Little dab of blue locktite, and a couple small beads of welders glue. Check put these axels!! Decided to leave the wheels and pants off for a bit. Tailwheel...

First off check out this box... SupaTim said this thing was boxed well... he wasn’t kidding. Double boxed and the inner box is super thick cardboard. Tim said he usually likes to throw stuff in the box, but with how much effort it takes to get to the inside it was easier to send another box with...

The I'm NOT going out flying thread.

You guys hear that DRACO did a ground loop on a crosswind takeoff? Wings busted, gear folded, and props ground off. Everyone was okay. Mike had his wife (who broke a nail in the process ha ha), and a friend on board. I am glad to hear how humble we was about the whole incident and used his pilot...

Awesome!! :welcome: Hope to see some pictures of your build as well! Servos are expensive no doubt, I got a used set I found online that are 100% overkill. A $70 servo is the baseline price for a Metal Gear, Digital, Coreless, High Torque Servo. It really depends on a couple main factors: Flying...

    Hello guys from Italy !!

:welcome: I'm 1/4 Italian! Went to Venice and Lucca for about a week this spring. Loved it! Lots of vino around and cheap too, Although I tried several bottles, I had little idea what I was even buying ha ha ha! California wines are my go to here in the US. -Nick

    Yippee! What the postman brought

The reasons I chose the SkyWing was based on many likes and wants that the ARF had to offer for my personal interest. Color Scheme was a huge want. I like an aggressive airframe that can roll with the punches and it felt like it offered everything I was looking for. Integrated carbon structure...
