    AR MagSwitch Booma RC

Saw that Booma RC has redesigned the Pin Flag Switch yet AGAIN!! It's the one that I got, and installed in my 91" ARS, but they now made a hard case around it, and gives the user an option to purchase a Pin Flag, Magnetic Switch, or a FOB switch. Good move guys, this awesome switch now has a lot...

91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

I was talking with Tim @ NWRC, and he showed me a picture of his, it looked the same, and the exhaust all escaped out just fine to my surprise! His picture showed just a tiny bit of residue around the circumference. SO I may just leave it alone, and maybe build up a little glass/epoxy around...

Working on the cowl a bit. Slapped the mufflers on and cut some exit holes for them. With the bottom of the cowl touching the firewall, I pivoted it up until the front cyl muff touches. Mark with a pencil and let the dremel do the rest. A lot of on and off, but super easy with how big this thing...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

You'll love floats! When the planes get bigger, you begin to feel water tension more, and can have fun step taxing. The smaller planes take off and land much like a puddle duck. Plop on and rocket off. You'll enjoy lining up on a flat surface to land and just easing the plane down onto it. There...

    Bill Hempel Yak 55

I could not locate anything in the AMA safety code or Handbook about any sort of ignition kill. This may be an event/club related stipulation. https://www.modelaircraft.org/sites/default/files/memanual.pdf edit: above 55lbs you need both...

Tinker tinker. Got the XT60 receptacles in place. Cut the left receptacle a little short... found another place to put the little AR untit.

Still workin on wiring. Mainly with the AR digital switch. So check this out! Skywing does it once again! There is an EC3 plug port you can use as a hardmount to plug your batteries into. I don’t use EC3 plugs... because I’m stubborn... using XT60s, so I modified it a bit with a file and...

Starting to play with the interior a bit more. Made a hardwood mount for my receivers and painted them black. Laying out everything to see where to put it all. It’s actually pretty fluent and lots of space. Not used to that!!

Fuel tank. It’s round fellas! It’s heavy duty plastic, aluminum cap with an o-ring, poly fuel line, and a heavy clunk. But there is more! Depron foam fuel bottle keepers. They have interlocking tabs that link into the airframe to glue in place. Add Velcro to the bottom and top of the bottle, and...

Cowl is ready to rock when you get it. Pretty nice actually. The mount holes I think were 1/8” off. Not a big deal, mostly cosmetics. The spinner is slightly smaller than the cowl front face, so it doesn’t look too out of place.

I’m happier with the mount adjustment. But still a little bit off. Calling it good enough! To my delight, the 110” Timber ARF included some engine mount standoffs that were 1” in which I never used, I added a carbon G10 spacer and it gave the me the clearance I needed. OAL is 1.037” or 26.35mm...

The spinner back plate comes with a template for drilling. And yes it’s perfect for the GP76 and is aligned so the prop is indexed correctly with the backplate. Pretty neat. Been working on mounting the engine. The alignment came in close. But just a tiny bit off. It bugged me. So I epoxied...
