The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Mine lasted over 2 years before it got loose. My slow and low 3D sucks, so I make up for that by flying it fast and hard.;) I'm not kind to it, and this is the first little issue I've had other than bad axles. Well there was the time the clear tape that DA uses to hold the ignition box...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

My Pilot Edge has been developing a rattle that I couldn't track down. It sounded like the hatch, which has been an issue in the past when the carbon tube pins wear, but ever since I added the fuzzy side of some Velcro to the fuse where the hatch rests to keep it taut that hasn't been a problem...

Filling gouges and scratches in balsa

I was looking for a small tub, but this was all the hardware store by my house had. Plus I think it was like $8. Even if I throw most of it away it's still cheap.;) It turns out I had some old towel rack holes to fix a few weeks after I bought it, so the large tub came in handy.

Speak up and win!! We're turning ONE, time to celebrate!!

A way to search in a thread would be nice. I wanted to find a picture I posted in the Glassing and Painting thread and had to go page by page to find it. If I could have searched for my posts in the thread it would have been much easier. Being able to view all pictures in a thread as others have...

Filling gouges and scratches in balsa

Bart, this is what I've been using. It's been working great. Very easy to smear on and sands easy. Like steaming the wood it's an idea I stole from Terry.

    Prop bolts....what's the consensus?

Been there, done that. Luckily I had a nice pick in my field box and we found a tiny little hammer in the Quonset hut at the field and I was able to remove them there. Thankfully they weren't Loctited or the 200 would have been on it's way back to DA. And I agree guys, very interesting stuff!

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Last night I installed new servo arms on my Goblin 570. The ones that were on it were too short, cut way to close to the ball, and the ball was tightened so much it crushed the plastic arm. After that I went through the setup on the Microbeast FBL controller. If I had the right size 5000-5300mah...

I've done the soldering iron method, at it works well enough, but it's still a pain.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I have a friend in town from Detroit and he and his son are going flying with me tomorrow. Earlier this week the forecast for Sunday was 82 with lower humidity. Right now the forecast for Sunday says 97 extremely humid and a 30% chance of rain. Figures. :(
