The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Well it still flies! The remaiden went well other than the nervous pilot. Other than a couple of turns on the tail rotor push rod the setup was pretty good. Between the new motor and a different brand of main blades it sounds quite a bit different, but it seemed smoother than before. One thing...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

After the crash, the motor was much hotter than normal. I pulled it apart and the rear bearing had totally disintegrated. The balls and cage were gone. The magnets were in the right places then. I remember because I spent a fair amount of time cleaning small pieces of metal off of them before I...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I decided to take my Trex 550 flying tomorrow for the first time since I crashed it over the 4th of July. So, today I decided to spool it up without main and tail blades. At about 50% throttle the motor started shaking terribly. I pulled the motor out and apart and two of the magnets had shifted...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I've been seriously considered getting an iKon. Maybe once I get over all the money I just spent fixing the Trex and buying the Goblin. Spektrum suggests spooling the helicopter up without main or tail blades to check for vibration. I decided to do that today since I just changed all the gears...

    A little story

The guy that ran the business next to mine had an S2E, so I've always been obsessed with the Pitts in any form. He was a cool old guy. He was a B26 pilot in WWII, he built a really nice Skybolt, and later a SE5, both in his two car garage at home.

Unfortunately I don't have any way to log vibrations with an AR7200bx. Other than a Vbar, what other options are there?

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

No shop work for me tonight. A friend and I started a detailed inventory of the locomotives of a very large HO railroad we inherited. 104 locomotives tonight. Just the tip of the iceberg. Every few minutes it was "what are we going to do with all this stuff!".

Nothing worse than Gremlins you can't find. I'm going to try and remaiden my Trex 550 this weekend after a crash and rebuild. I always hate the thoughts in the back of your mind like are those servos really still good. Is the FBL controller okay after bashing it into the ground. It's bad...

Stupidest thing you have ever done RC related.

Only if is goes 100 MPH. ;) We've got a few guys with EDF jets at the field and you hear how wildly fast they are all the time. Most of the numbers are a wild guess at best.

    Deadstick and close call

I did that twice in one day with a buddies 33% Sukhoi so I feel your pain. It just didn't like pop tops. Luckily the landings were okay. Looks like your lives to fight another day.

Mike, we had a night fly at our field a couple weeks ago and they say the turnout was very good. I didn't know anything about it until a day later.:( Ryan even flew a gasser. They're talking about doing one every month.
