    New Bull Engines

I have a BE 124 on my Pilot 107" Edge. Really powerful engine. I will see if I can find my thread on it here on GSN.

    Help! Fromeco 5200 LION capacity

And yes...Jetpainter is correct. The 7 volts is too low for a fully charged LiIon. A fully charged and healthy LiIon 7.4 pack should max out at 8.4ish volts.

    Help! Fromeco 5200 LION capacity

A Fromeco LiIon really doesn't need to be cycled as the chemistry does not require it. However if doing this for general knowledge, normally a fully charged-relatively new LiIon 5200 should come out minimum of 90% of total capacity. +/-. If fully discharging, you should never let the total...

Landing with crosswinds and no headwind

The more experienced pilots you mention are basically slowing their planes down to a near stalled state. Bringing the nose ever so slightly up and relying on lift from the wings and the thrust of the prop to pull them through the air while keeping the plane in a near stalled state. Proper method...

Landing with crosswinds and no headwind

5-6 mph crosswind? Is that all? Normally we have at least that 24/7 and most times in excess of 10+. Sometimes that 10+ is exact 90 degree cross wind. I have seen upwards of 18-30 mph winds at our field while setting up an approach. NOT FUN. We have a standing rule. If you can't fly in the wind...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Well while you are "assembling", I seem to be "dis-assembling". You going to get her out this weekend and bust her loose again? I sure love the way a Yak flies. Guess that is why I am really wanting to get the Behemoth Yakster back together before flying season ends. And it looks like it just...

    Rebuilding the Yak...again.

Naaa...can't be havin' that. Gotta do something. Goal is to get her done and flying again by the end of September. So to answer my own question. What's half as good as a full Yak? Well, half of a Yak of course. Yikes...don't think it is going to fly in this condition. Oh but wait, there is...

    Rebuilding the Yak...again.

Funny guy David. I probably won't get much done the rest of this week. Getting all geared up and jacked for the Tri-Cities Huckfest. Man, I have been waiting "ALL" year for this event. If I do nothing else in September, just going to that event will make it worth it. I will more than likely get...

    Rebuilding the Yak...again.

You won't be disappointed I can promise you that. Though "Baby" is not a Pilot per sey, But Tony was involved with SD models when she was assembled. Many of the technics and designs are now carried over to Pilot RC. Baby is well into her 8th year with coming up on 400 flights. There have been...

    Rebuilding the Yak...again.

Hey everyone. I received an email from Dolly at Pilot RC last night. She is the little gal that does all the confirmation shipping of parts and pieces ordered from Pilot. What a bang up job she does too. I remember back earlier this year when I ordered the complete covering kit for the big Yak...

    Rebuilding the Yak...again.

Thanks guys. Sometimes it takes a different set of eyes to see things a little more clearly. My son stopped by this afternoon and we were chatting about the Yak repairs. As it is like, "RIGHT" there in plain sight. LOL. He noticed something I did not see. At the aft section of F37A there is a...

    Rebuilding the Yak...again.

Agreed. It'll be basically new again. I'm sure everything will fit perfectly. Just going to be a matter of methodically reassembling piece by piece. I actually think it will go rather quickly once everything arrives. I've decided to "not" strip the entire fuse of covering. I've got plenty of...
