    3D Restoring The Yak

Thanks everyone....it's been quite an undertaking but worth it. If ya'll will excuse the clutter and back ground, I'll share a "pre" pre-assembly photo. I just "HAD" to see what she's gonna look like. I was not prepared for the size of this behemoth Yak. Course my house gets really small really...

    3D Restoring The Yak

Quick update... I now have all covering done except the canopy. I'm going to hold off on that as I have to repaint the border to match the new scheme. I also want to remove the pilot bust and repaint his helmet. Until then, I will start adding equipment to the plane. I'm a lot closer today...

    3D Restoring The Yak

Ah, it's not so bad. You sir, are correct. CA debonder. Works great on removing ca in spots you don't want it, debonding stuck fingers, (hence debonder), helping to remove covering adhesive from over lap, taking out bleed over...and watch out. Removes embedded covering color from wood. :woohoo!:

    3D Restoring The Yak

Thank you to you...and everyone for the continued watchfulness and appreciation of this thread. I do hope I am able to pass on a little bit of something to anyone who finds it useful and helpful in their own sick and twisted madness as my own. :spongebob: I started stripping the right wing...

    3D Restoring The Yak

Ok so I've been playing and not covering. Lol. But who would blame me? These graphics are so perfect for this plane. Yup, I'm quite pleased with them. Must make sure Eric gets my :way_to_go::way_to_go: two thumbs up.

3D When is a plane used up?

I kind of thought that was it from the scheme...but wasn't too sure.

    3D Restoring The Yak

I owe ya'll a lil apology. I got so excited, I got a little ahead of myself with the covering. I meant to share a couple little tid bits. First, I have really been taking my time in restoring this Yak. Paying really close attention to detail. In doing so, I wanted just everything to be very...

    3D Restoring The Yak

    3D Restoring The Yak

Ok here we go. Wow...talk about a lot of work! I had no idea this scheme, (though fairly simplictic) would be so time consuming getting everything to line up and lay the way I wanted it to. In the long run, very well worth it. Got the bottom accent panels on and I must say, it looks pretty...

Well by darn, that looks just like mine did....two weeks ago. Put some clothes on that girl will ya? Wow! I have the accent stripes on one wing, an entire wing yet to strip and cover and the hatch/canopy. Almost done, yay. Can't wait to see the scheme you dream up for yours.:yesss:

3D When is a plane used up?

Sorry about your woes on you GP's Randy. I just could never get mine running well. It was either set the needles as per suggestion and it was a dog, nearly lost the Sukhoi once. Or set them the way I set everything else...including my DLE's and my 3dubs and it would run but just not consistent...

Are you talking about the double sized aileron H-9 Sukhoi? I believe that Sukhoi just sold on that other site not too long ago.

3D When is a plane used up?

It's just my opinion, but if you love it or it's your all around go to, it's never used up. Just strip, clean, repair, recover...fly. I will be looking forward to your findings, deliberations and ultimate decision. I feel another restore comin' on.:way_to_go: Good plan with the covering video...
