I think there is a right way and a wrong way to utilize this type of setup. Though my 260 isn't the newest airframe, it is still just as tight and sold as the day it was assembled the first time by Harv. I'm sure SD is not the only manufacturer to do this, however a really hard good quality...- stangflyer

A little epoxy on the threads and those babies ain't goin' nowhere. Although I do like the alternative much better, the bolts seem to be holding up quite nicely on the 260. Well here's the thing. The 37% Edge had them. I used them. My 260, did not. Course it's an original SD. Yet the 40% Yak does not either. Going to build them in when I finally get started on the recover/restore project. Perhaps Randy can enlighten us a little??!!??- stangflyer

Looks really nice. I say no on cutting the cowl. On both my PAU Extra and my Pilot Edge, I have the same basic openings in the bottom of the fuse as your 330. Didn't cut either cowl and both motors run very cool. I think I have less on the big 260 and it cools really well also.- stangflyer

It is an older one. But a good one for sure. I really need to find something to put it in. Even the more....ah hum, elderly 3 dubs run sweet as heck and smooth as silk. I will agree. I think 168 is good for a plane in the 30cc or so class. Probably not bigger than that. Thing that baffles me on...- stangflyer

Yup, have to agree. Nothing really compares to the Nord locks. And like Terry, I also use them on my props. Another lesson learned was the GP Evo 176 that sheared two prop bolts on the very first maiden of my Sukhoi. From that point on, Nord locks on everything questionable. Lol I just...- stangflyer

I have one of those. Actually very compact and superior for setup. I like it. I've been using the red high temp silicone with the gaskets. Seals rather nicely with no seapage. I don't use any locktite or lock washers. After using lock washers, I dropped a header on the 260 and the hot exhaust...- stangflyer

Ok, just a little update. Had to wait for a cowl as there were no cowls in the scheme I chose available. One was painted up to match the scheme and is now ready to ship. Now you're talkin' Joe. Of all the pluses the Pilot has to offer, (IMO) one thing they have fallen short on is the selection of wheels. Like most companies, they have their misses too. It is my belief that Tony does this to keep the cost down as he realizes most guys will probably replace them...- stangflyer

Yes, about 2 lbs, 6 oz. lighter. The PAU was a 106" 300. The only addition to the Edge is I built a shaped to fit wooden block to mount the 111 to. It sandwichs between the motor and the firewall. It was the easiest resolution to extending the motor out where it needed to be since I originally...- stangflyer
