The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I maidened her on Monday evening. There were a ridiculous amount of black birds flying around, but they didn't cause any issues luckily. This is probably the most straight flying plane I have built! No trim required at all. All the electronics in that plane came from Hobby King and came out to...

I have her done now! 2 lbs 9 oz. May maiden it today. Our club is having a fun fly this weekend in which we should have 13 flying all together! Living in Texas, the chance of snow holding me back from flying isn't very good;)

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

Last night I got 6 flights on 4 different aircraft (my racing quad isn't pictured...). If anyone else had been there flying in the 110 degree heat, I would have flown the heli as well... but wasn't going to brave the heat for another flight otherwise.

It is one of the hottest days of the year here today... very little wind but it is hard to want to go outside in 110 degrees. I will head out flying later this evening when it is only like 102 degrees... instead of flying, I started a new project that 13 people in the Wichita Falls Radio Control...

I have a P-40E kit in my hobby room sitting in the box... if you ever want to scratch that itch, let me know. I may never get to it and could sent it your way.

Maidened my Defiant 28 today. I had WAY WAY WAY too much on the control throws. It also needed a very large amount of up elevator to stay level. Once I have it dialed in, I think it will be a hoot! It is very quick and very durable.

Three flights on the Cap tonight. One daytime, one dusk, one dark with still seeing just a hint of color still. I will fly totally dark at some point, just not the first time ever doing it;)

Holy cows! Did you report the hit and run? That’s scary. Glad that was all that happened! And welcome to the wonderful yet challenging world of rc helis!!

Sorry! Forgot the battery I am using... Some old Gens Ace 3300s. I believe they are 45c. I will try my Turnigy blue 5000s in there as well. There was no way that I could tell a difference in the flying today to compare them...

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

The Cap flew extremely well with the winds. I left the gyro in its standard settings and it seemed to be fine with the gains even with high speed and high rates. I do have to change the elevator linkage to give it some down elevator. It does pretty much all maneuvers that I do normally very...

6 flights on the Cap and 7+ on the quads. It was an awesome afternoon even though it was gusting 30+ mph at points.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I took a break from my biplane to build my Father’s Day present (Told the wife I was getting it for my present and she concurred). It is a Defiant 28. It’s a foam FPV wing with a 28” wingspan. It uses the same motor as the quads along with the same FPV gear. So it is a rather economical airplane...

Sorry, no pictures, but I got the Flex Innovation Cap 232 today. I got it out of the box and completely set up in less than an hour and a half! Went together extremely easily with some very slight changes to linkages and added a servo extension for the light control. Ready for maiden! Will have...

This morning I was feeling under the weather. So I never left the house today... so I did get the framing of the whole top wing complete on the Ultimate! The fuselage is ready for mating the top wing next time I hit the hobby room.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Well, today has been a random job day. I recently stiffened the pushrods in my King Kobra which really added some weight to the tail. So I was able to take some lead out of the tail today to fix that issue. Next, I had a bent shaft on one of my quad motors. So I replaced that motor so there...

Well, that is rather anticlimactic if my picture isn't going to show up... It is the Flex Innovations "Thanks for your Order" page... I got the Cap 232 EX Night version. @49dimes You made a believer out of me for getting it. I'm excited to try this guy out after the kids and wife go to bed and...
