Thanks Randy. I'm glad someone is still reading this boring Skymaster thread. I just read my first post and laughed when I read that I planned to be done in the Fall. Ha! Riiiiight.... I may someday retrofit some retracts. There's a guy on RCSB that did a great job fabricating his retracts...- Patto

One significant flaw I'm seeing in this design is the lack of reinforcement in key areas, such as the landing gear plate and the former that holds the wing to the fuselage. For the latter, the kit from National Balsa makes it worse because there is a seam in the top of the fuse at this key...- Patto

Discussion Airframe Vibration Prevention/Deadening
I used thick balsa triangle stock in every joint of the motor box and inside the canister box. I also used hardwood cross bracing zig-zagging the top of the fuselage from firewall into the tail just below the canopy hatch. This resolved the vibration issues for the most part.- Patto

Three servos installed now: nose gear, rear throttle, and rear choke. All programmed into the 18sz. I'm waiting for some longer standoffs for the front engine and then I can finish the front engine installation. When that is done, I can install the front throttle and choke. Why use servos...- Patto

I have the Crack Lazer and like it. My 9 year old loves it! We do have issues with the control surfaces not centering well. It actually changes during flight. I believe the cheap HK servos may be the culprits. Can anyone recommend some affordable yet worthy replacements? I'm probably...- Patto
