Guys, the points all these individuals are making is that aviation has a wide variety of careers within the industry. As far as the airlines, I'm a poster child for the cyclical nature of it. In 24 yrs (starting at a regional carrier) I've worn six uniforms and been furloughed twice and been...

Now I get it. Wasn't thinking ball joint thread. You think you need more than 55? I should put a meter on mine. I don't think it's that much.

?" I did notice that at the 2" position the turnbuckles were down to only a few threads," Down to only a few threads? Sorry for my ignorance but I can't visualize that.

Erik, I'm a civilian trained airline pilot and my wife is civilian and military trained. I taught aerobatics along the way (to her at one point!!), hence the love of aerobatics, precision, IMAC and 3D! Cheaper than owning or renting an Extra! If you guys have questions pm me and I'll do my best...

    60" Laser-EXP

Great vid Cody! Really shows off the versatility of this airframe. It's flights like this that really help cement the bond between precision, 3D and extreme flying. Keep them coming.

I've made an agreement to hold my fleet size at my vehicle limit for now. I love the 78 for an all around frame and ease of transport in my Outback. I'd love a 104 but not now. I'm settling in on 60" electric for fun n practice, 78 for competition and fun and practice of course. It's my first...

    2014 3DRCForums 3D Freestyle Competition

It's not going to be perfected in two seasons. The great thing is the effort by the forum and the community to spread the word and develop this hybrid format that represents the best of the disciplines out there in an amateur, "fly what you have" and "bring it" competition. Good stuff.

    2014 3DRCForums 3D Freestyle Competition

You want to keep the "amateur" and pocketbooks in mind. Remember the motivation of this competition, as I understand it, was to keep it available to "everyone". When you start throwing (literally and figuratively) 50cc around you start narrowing the opportunity window for many.

Our NH boys did a good job! Cody was excited. Haven't spoken to Tyler but I'm sure he's psyched too. I've enjoyed getting some "senior" guys into precision and IMAC flying. It can only make your flying better IMO and is an excellent foundation for 3D and extreme acro. It's one thing to do a...

    2014 3DRCForums 3D Freestyle Competition

I like the "at LEAST one..." First prize- an airframe in the competition category (30cc) would never be a bad idea. Of course a plaque for the "love me wall" is always good. Ultimate goal could be regional smaller events with winners (based on number of regional events to determine top 1,2 or...

Holy crap Matt. You've started servo panic in EF 78 Extra World! Just kidding guys. This is why we love this forum. When someone hears or learns something important it gets passed right along. Occasionally with some humor! Haha.

Better not to watch it again! Matt's explanation is accurate. I just wouldn't be too obsessed with getting "sick" throws til you fly it and see what you need. I'm surprised what I get out of it with what I consider "high" rates not sick.

I hear ya on northern NE. I will put feelers out here. Perhaps we can try to do an early season inter club event with similar rules/ format and see what locals think. It will be a great opportunity to share ideas, practice and see what folks think. It's all good and moving to a good place with...

MHO- no need for "sick" throws. I get a lot of performance out of what may be considered high, but not sick. I could do more but never feel the need. Walls, elevators, crankshafts, KE loops are all fine. Just sayin. I realize that elevator servo mounting caused the issue. There was an addendum...
