    2014 3DRCForums 3D Freestyle Competition

I'm not familiar with specific fields but I'll throw in states- NY, NJ, Northern PA. Now we do have a couple venues up in New England that could work but I realize that's stretching it. I'm with Enterprise (probably literally if we both went to the event!) on the 12 hour drive. Even that's a bit...

    2014 3DRCForums 3D Freestyle Competition

I'd really like to see it stay in the Northeast +/- area. I can't believe there isn't enough interest or flying population to give a good attendance. I didn't make the last one but was certainly planning for 2014 in NJ. What kind of numbers are we talking about? Perhaps we can run a multi...

Speaking the IMAC community in the NE, its a great group. Very helpful. Try to find a judging seminar close to you if possible. IMAC is contestant judged so you should go not only to learn to judge but learning to judge will help your flying too. Start your search at the IMAC website...

I have to agree Matt. I am truly blown away by the quality and performance of that Laser. The entire EF line (IMO) has set the bar pretty high.

I hear ya and realize that a close to spot on perfect all around performer does not happen overnight or even close to it. I guess I'm looking for a bone here! Is there talk of anything in the 78"/ 30-35 CC size to suit "this" market? I can't imagine there is not a big demand even so soon after...

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

I'll vouch for GH. I've been with him for quite a few of those flights. I think I'm giving him a run for reliability with his old 78 EXtra w DLE 35. Only about 50-60 flights so far but all I hoped for in a gasser. That 91 with DA 60 is a sweet setup.

That's what I've heard too. I've only flown the 72" glow Yak. It was "OK" but I watched the owner deal with several "issues", namely weak gear box. Not trashing AW, they obviously perform and are popular with many but these EF airframes are right on the money right now. Chris n Co. Should...

So what's the deal with AW beating EF to the 30cc Laser :-(. What's up Chris? Let's go man. I've been giving pulls on the 60" to the "senior" members and a couple are going for it. What's not to like? I tone it way down, give them a pull then demonstrate where it can take them. I end with a...

So limit it to manufacturers limits. What fun is that! Lol. Makes sense. Actually I'm in the evolving camp that we've overdone the whole throw thing. You can definitely get "more with less" and there is overkill with control throws.

Did you continue to have issues with them? I'm a little gun shy after blowing a few out in flight on the 48!

Savox service ? I just sent back a bag full of micro 0255s (4)! I had a return auth for 1, and included receipt for 2 of them and nothing for the other 2. The RA was for one that was locked out of the box. Right after that I had an in flight failure on my EF 48" MXS and totaled it. I sent a...

    60" Laser-EXP

I flew the Laser today again and just can't find any weaknesses. Perhaps it's too stable in a harrier or the roll rate is too fast. No wait it must be that it does insane tumbles to crisp as a fresh picked apple recovery. No no I got it, the CF gear is a little too stiff! Gee Chris, ya think you...

Make sure to do the mods and def invest in a CF prop. Got mine at Hobby Lobby- Aeronaut 10x8. Doesn't completely fold with stock spinner but nuts fine. Good luck.

This is the Radian Pro- not much Dihedral and has ailerons. The Radian has a wild polyhydral wing and no ailerons. Definitely need the stiffer wing tube and Cf in Vertical stab and empanage to do this with it. There are some mods out there to mix in full span ailerons (to include the flaps)...

    60" Laser-EXP

Flew a few more times today- WOW. Even nice without SFGs. Had an 80 yr old at our club flying it all calmed down. He's thinking of one! I told him we could tame it way down and if it survives he will never "need" more performance! We'll see. I told him to make sure I set it up for him before he...

Those look fun. Not for nothin. I have a modified Radian Pro that I'm really enjoying. I put a 10x8 cf prop as well as stiffened up the tail and put a stuff wing tube in it. It does descent Acro- loops, rolls, inverted, rolling circles, etc, soars well, thermals nicely, and climbs like crazy on...
