Who would be interested in an entirely new type of competition?

Well, I'm IN to help Cody develop this into a real discipline. I think it's time has come. All the threads, all the talk, all the hype is moving this forward- good stuff. Merging Performance flying, Extreme aerobatics and 3D into a discipline that can be judged with fair criteria, adjusted...

Question/ Discussion- IMAC- Downsizing Airframes and Airspace?

Namaste Sensei! Spoken like a true "Nija" We see it everywhere, golf is another activity that "product" outweighs "productivity" More expensive must be better therefore I will be better if I spend more. I spend therefore I am! NOT!

Question/ Discussion- IMAC- Downsizing Airframes and Airspace?

Thanks Dennis. There's good conversation going on here and another thread so it's all good.

Who would be interested in an entirely new type of competition?

+1 on the skill sets. My claim to fame (in my mind!) is that I beat out Tyler at my first fun fly competition (Loop and roll then roll (the dice)). It had nothing to do with ability or style after the Loops and Rolls and landing were complete, poor kid took 26 rolls to get his number to come...

    Precision Flight Tutorials Episode 5!

Brian, Just caught up with this one. Great tutorial on turnarounds and excellent emphasis on the wind corrections. I just did my first judging seminar and plan to compete and hopefully judge this season. Getting ready to maiden my 60" EF Extra which will be a practice airframe and waiting on...

Question/ Discussion- IMAC- Downsizing Airframes and Airspace?

Well, I'm a new judge and I will certainly keep the dialogue alive at any events I attend. It's not so much change that is needed, only more acceptance. The judges should not be influenced by the size of the airframe being flown as long as the airspace is used effectively (smaller airframe...

Who would be interested in an entirely new type of competition?

So, were you keeping this a secret from me? (we were sitting next to each other at the judging seminar). You've crystallized my thoughts brother! I figured it would morph into something good and I think you've got it. Are you thinking a modified Aresti or maneuvers written out? This will...

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

Aren't the crack yaks great? I've had mine for about 10 flights and what a confidence builder for rollers. Really performs much better than the Edge IMO. Makes better lines and really rolls! Just fun. As for the copy/ copyright issues. Schemes are usually taken from full scale inspirations so...

Question/ Discussion- IMAC- Downsizing Airframes and Airspace?

No matter what you like to fly- that's funny! That's the reason for the poll and the thread. Is there some reasonable middle ground for IMAC? I may resort to local, fun practice/ competition with the people who want to get better. I'm going to try a few competitions just to gain an educated...

If that wasn't a teaser trailer I don't know what is! Ya think you can boost that roll rate a little more Cody? lol

+1 Me too Anthony. I'm always impressed at the Helis when I hear and see them but my fixed wing brain just keeps saying "ain't right!" It certainly is entertaining. I can't help being a little scared when those high energy hurricanes come whizzing around. Helis go ballistic in so many...

Question/ Discussion- IMAC- Downsizing Airframes and Airspace?

Thanks Gary, The IMAC judging seminar went well today and the guys were very welcoming. I learned some things. We'll see how things go when I compete and judge. I will be in the "small plane club" with my little 78". I'll keep this thread open as I progress.

Question/ Discussion- IMAC- Downsizing Airframes and Airspace?

Hypothetical- A person loves precision aerobatics and wants to compete (realistically) in IMAC above Basic class. This person cannot get anything larger than a 35cc airframe (for whatever reason). Is this person at a disadvantage? If so, then is a multi size/ multi class competition fair...

Question/ Discussion- IMAC- Downsizing Airframes and Airspace?

A discussion began on this thread- http://www.3drcforums.com/showthread.php?1285-35cc-vs-50cc/page4 around page 4 a couple days ago. I think it deserves some attention and at some point a poll. For now please weigh in with your thoughts. My point is that there appears to be a new emerging...

Make a custom plane stand on the cheap from pvc pipe!

Made one a few months ago, holding a 78" Extra, 60" in forground. I glue the end pieces and leave the long bars unglued for easy transport. Nice job.
