Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% PA-28 Cherokee Build

Festool is pricy. I know one of the guys I used to follow all of his builds on over on FG had a big belt sander for his business that he used when laying up sheeting

How big is the plane? Honestly though being a glider using covering as a hinge should work just fine. I have done it on a few of my smaller 3D Profiles with success. And I would do it the opposite way though like our DLG's are done. bevel the top and let it hinge from the bottom so if you want...

I love it when the Laser cutting guy emails and says the wood you sent showed up a little while ago. The parts are now boxed up and ready to send back.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

It looks awesome thats for sure. Seems to be a fair price for how big of a biplane it is.

Thats nice that his software does that. The guy that will be cutting for me has had his laser for well over 15 years at this point and is probably still running older software. I know the guy I had CNC Router cut me some parts had software that could do it. He just needed me to color code the...

Yes sir for sure takes time. I have well over 100 hrs in this one. And getting it ready for laser cutting takes even longer as I have to offset all my lines to compensate for the cut of the laser.

Very nice @Snoopy1. Funny I have been working on a design as well. This is a slightly scaled up version of the ChubCub that I designed many years ago. Designed it with two wing options and both use the same root rib so both wings can be built and changed out. I think the Hershey bar style wing...

10-4 If you have EPP I think that would be a better foam to use. The depron is nice and it probably flys way better with depron since its more rigid but it's not gonna handle dorks well at all.

Got some video of the little foamie today. I need longer arms on the servos as I can only get about 30 degrees of travel on all surfaces but the plane fly's awesome. It will do rudder only KE loops. Sorry for the crap video. Trying out a new camera and I had the angle off as well as I had it in...

Had more fun in a two hour stent at the flying field than I have had in a long time. Let my buddy take a spin with the ChubCub that I designed long ago and he was in love. After 5 packs went through it there was a slight dork that broke the motor mount free.

All loaded it to go have fun today. This will be the first time in over a year that I have gone to fly at the club field with other members there. Generally have gone out during lunch breaks by myself. Just wasn’t willing to take chances with the pandemic and all and a little girl at home.

This day was made better when I got home and the little girl saw the plane and asked to see it fly. Quick flight in the yard and made her day letting her carry it back to the house.
