30% Pilot Carbon EDGE Build & Discussion

Hi AK,

Some parts are just very hard to get geometrically correct using hand tools. The radiused part you are referencing is for the cowl of my Pitts M12, the rudder horn in the picture and the radius piece are CNC cut. I have access to this equipment through a friend. I simply write the program for the part to be machined and provide the carbon fiber taped to a sacrificial block. I can have CNC cut pieces made for you if you provide a drawing that provides enough info. Of course there is a machining charge depending on the piece to be cut. I hand cut my own parts wherever possible, There are no machine cut parts on the Carbon EDGE other than the rudder tray and servo arms. The rudder tray is purchased from Taildragger RC and the and servo arms are from Redwing RC

FYI everyone, it's confirmed, the Carbon EDGE will make another appearance at the Tulsa 3D Bash!!! Another reason to get out to one of the 3D Bash Series events!
Kennett was awesome, lets make Tulsa the event of the year!!!!! load up your trailers and bring it on!!!

I am he first to admit, I'm a beginner 3D pilot, build em, yes, fly them, in process. I need a pro / team pilot to put the sticks on the Carbon EDGE and put her through the paces. I already have a "maybe" pilot that may be at Tulsa that I trust with my life, but I need a back-up. Maybe a raffle ? I'm putting up one beautiful EDGE, who's got the kahonies to make her fly?

I'm bringing one of the best pilots I know, Brian Yak Dude with me.... And his Texas swagger is definitely not short of kahonies!

Yeah, Brian is a pilot that I would trust with any of my planes, I'm sure he can do justice to the Carbon Edge.

That's great! I'm not looking for a pilot to kill the EDGE, but we can give him so fly time, copy the current set up and let him make his changes and fly it. sound fair?
I also have another pilot, John Alexander that may show for the event, he is mike's and mines mentor. He WOWED em at Kennett, blew up a YAK wing doing it.
Bring your pilot GYRO, let's see what the EDGE will do. HOOOOOAHHHHH, TULSA HERE WE COME!!!

Thanks, I knew those had to be machine parts. Cutting those by hand would be a helluva task. I suppose one could use a template and router but again it would be a night mare.
