I am glad you posted this particular post. It reminded me I needed to get some advice from you fellas on a very good quality, ultra dependable ESC for the Kolm starter motor. You see, I am not able to read German/Austrian and the booklet that came with my 150 outlines a few things. I can make out 40 amp. simply because I can read 40. LOL..... I really see no point in spending 200 dollars for an ESC that will only drive the starter motor for short bursts now and then. But then again, I am not willing to compromise quality to purchase a 10 dollar HK special. Any of you have any suggestions for me? By the way....nice setup.:way_to_go:

I have been running this esc in one of my 3D profile planes for a couple years now. When I fly that plane it gets pushed hard and the esc has been rock solid. I wouldn’t question using it.

Extreme Flight sent me a new spinner back plate. Wohoooo. Little locktite on the bolts. Spinner now spins True and no vibration!

Nice to have the telemetry on hand like that, I just have to get off my butt and buy a new radio to enjoy telemetry like that.
Technology changes fast! Didn't need it before, not sure why I need it now, but it's reassuring that's for sure! A lot of ESC's have data logging too, so you can get that info later and double check. For me its more of a curiosity satisfy-er. I am looking forward to the capacity used function, Also the 400ft "threshold" because who actually knows what that is when you are flying. And for giggles, I want to know my ground speed. I always tell people about 50mph but now I'll have a better idea.

You are correct we don’t need it but nice to have, just another toy to add to the hobby.

Kindof interesting. I did some more run ups and noticed my Tx will show live current, but also shows the min/max. Logged a 75A burst on that screen after a run up. This was on my two tired Pulse 3700's 6S 65C batteries. Since the ESC is rated for 80A continuous and the current meter is rated for 0-70A continuous, 70-150A within 10 seconds... which I think is a very long time unless your name is Jase and you do circles while rifle rolling at WOT... At any rate, I think this is an ideal setup. Assuming that draw was from 0 rpm to WOT. I'm curious to see what it logs in flight and with my newer revo Lipos.

Now if the weather would just behave. Almost went out yesterday but the field was slush. Now it is raining and 35F, tomorrow night were supposed to get 3-5" of snow. Then get cold, and clear up which would almost be ideal minus the cold. The good news is cold and clear means a good clean runway, and silky smooth air - perfect for a maiden. Just not so perfect for my fingers.

The waiting commences. :cautious::rolleyes::p

Maiden Complete with Video!

This plane flies great. Floaty, has good power (maybe a little less than a 60" bird on my setup), responsive, and an overall locked in feel. A little nose heavy, since everything is moved back as far as I can without modification I may have to add weight to the tail.

ESC settings for now: 0 Timming (low), 75 Start Power (med-high), 8 PWM, 9 Throttle Response (high). I'll try and download the data and get some more numbers.

Probably get a safe 4.5min flight time on my setup. Very happy with this plane looking forward to flying it again!
