I got my Slick out for a couple flights with some of my flying buds yesterday after a long dose of cold weather cabin fever. Anyways, thought you guys might like to see some slick action from The Great White North (Canada).

Just getting around to updating my 89 Slick. Going to upgrade from 7955's to BLS172SV's and two R7008SB rx's. While I was looking it over I noticed that one of the aluminum L brackets that help hold the firewall to the motorbox was cracked. Spent the whole afternoon making two new ones and re-gluing the firewall back. In the first picture you can see the new one which is a little thicker and wider metal and the old cracked one that I had to heat up with a heat gun in the motorbox to get it to come loose because of it being glued in at the factory, in the process it got bent up a little. The original ones are really thin and very soft aluminum.

Ordered a 89in Slick... Can't wait till mid-march when it gets here... Now just to collect parts... engine, servos, rec, bat, blah blah blah... What you guys think bout going with a da70? to much? make it to heavy? will it fit?

Congrats!

It definitely won't hurt to have the power, the 89" slick is almost as big as most 100cc planes.
Also, it shouldn't effect CG negatively, as you can always move your batteries back to help.

What servos are you going with?

I either go with 7954's or Savox , I never used the Savox's before but have seen great reviews... I was worried about the cg with the twin hanging off the front maybe move the rudder servo to rear?

Honestly, I think you be fine. Here is what I'd do:

Build the whole plane and mount the engine, but don't install the double rudder control horn.

Then, balance the plane with the rudder servo sitting on the tray. If you get close, you're set, install the pull-pull. If not, move the servo to the tail and go that route.

I had an EME60 on mine before I sold it, and 2s2200 lipos just behind the cowl lip. Also had a 32oz tank.

I truly suspect you'll be fine pull-pull, especially if move batts to the reviewer tray or elsewhere behind the wing tube.

Just my opinion tho :)

And the Savox and Hitec options are both excellent. Great value in the HS-7954SH and SV-1270TG.
