As my last update for 2015, the top of the wing was sheeted today. I then dry fitted all the parts together. I'd estimate being 75-80% complete now.

haha, yeah. Air retracts in my dad's Top Flite P-51 and FW-190 have been nothing but problematic. I can't remember how I found Wingspan Retracts. The other nice thing on these is the 100* angle when fully extended, designed to help prevent the typical warbird nose over.

Be advised he went out of business last summer. If you have issues with them, you will most likely be repairing them yourself.

Well, that sucks. I've cycled mine 4 or 6 times with the struts just laying on the posts. Hopefully I got mine well before the quality issues.

Took the day off from work and got the wing tip ribs, tip LE blocks, tip AFT blocks, and tip sheeting sheeting glued in. Next I need to sand the excess sheeting flish and glue the preshaped tips on.

Got the preshaped wing tip blocks glued in, taped the ailerons in place for effect. Then took some fun pictures. Just need some warmer weather to get out and sand the heck out of the wing now.

Very nice!! Looking good, I always have a love hate relationship with sanding, hate the sanding but love that it turns into right in front of your eyes. Well done!

Looking good you might catch me I haven't been able to finish mine as wife fell and broke her shoulder and it has been sitting downstairs waiting to be painted.
