i have changed my mind!! i will use the G10 material horns instead.  for some reason.  i just think this will be a more solid construct.  i am gluing in a plywood layer to the back side of the LE of the rudder so that this is streghtened.  since the LE is balsa.

I really like your hinge spacing alot. And wish id of thought of or seen that way before drilling mine. I used double at each end and even spaced throught the hinge line.  Your layout makes alot of sense to me.

Looking good bud. Keep it up. Watching builds like this and the stuff Terryscustom comes up with really make me want to build something bigger than 30%. One day I will be able to afford it but right now it's just not in the cards.
Just think of all the people who would love to have even a  1/4 scale  someday and cant get there yet or won't,   were a lucky bunch. .. all of us.. to be into a hobby like this, feel blessed and accomplished to have a 30% airplane my friend, most of the world can only dream of having one like yours. Much less a few or some people a dozen or more rc airplanes in their garage. Hell, some folks would just be tickled just to have a garage . The cards will fall your way soon enough. You mentioned medical bills before, I sincerely hope all is well or on the way to well.

stabs are finished.  Now all i have to do is do a final good sanding and brush the cove rite balsa treatment. and then cover them.

the thought of beveling these, for months, had me worried and almost wanting to not do this.  but i realized, with patience and the use of a sharp planer, the actual amount of sanding was minimal.  so in reality, this was not bad at all.  it was actually quite fun!!!

tting of the fin.  not pictured, i used a laser light to check the alignment from the back and also from the front.  this laser light was very useful.  the light is a cross mark.

ok, i glued the fin on.  took a great deal of concentration and work, but end result is good.  here is checking the alignment from the front as well...once it cures i will sand it down and i will repeat the pictures and the alignment check
