Hey ortho. Glad to see you made it over here! I hope to see some pictures of your dalton soon. I am bummed about the build thread I left on the other site, but oh well. I am just about to the covering stage for mine. Keep on gluing!
just made it back here, and have seen the explosion of posts all over this site! very exciting, between you and me, i had the feeling GSN was sinking, but now, it is not only afloat but soaring high!! congrats.

getting the prep work to cover the stabs/wings.
I am using aquanet hairspray to create a sheen on the balsa, then i will sand this down, til very smooth with fine sandpaper. then i will use a brush to remove as much dust as possible, then an air compressor, then a tack cloth. after this, i will then apply balsa-rite, then cover time.
After i saw Sukhoi Kid's dalton that Tony built for him, i decided to go with the standoffs. this will save me over 4 ounces compared to the plywood block I had manufactured.
