With the help of a good flying buddy, we put new hinges in for the rudder. Good and strong. Still need to clean it up but should be much better!! ( actually my buddy did most of the work!!)

Do the hinges have a bushing in them to keep wear from egging them? Looks strong , yet I think id put a few more hinges inline there. Or was that all that was installed before?

Yes, bushings on each one. I believe its plenty strong. I will be keeping an eye on it. Know of a few other planes flying the same set up with no problems. If the rod wears it will cost me 80 cents to replace!

On the other hand, theres an 80 cent part keeping your 6000.00 plane in the air.
Id go solid carbon rod with end caps or retainers but I like to make things as complicated as possible, LoL
Looks strong enough as is. Just never seen a set up like that, pretty clever.

Moving at the end of the month, -38f with wind chill last night! I will never move in the winter again! To bloody cold to just pack up my shop!!!
