Please let me know what you find.

Until then, the tough choices continue.

Reduction drive...

No reduction drive...
So I received a reply to me email to John Munson. He regrettably apologized, however he is not able to take any further customer orders for the prop reduction unit. It seem that like many of us, life and family got in the way of his hobby. He says he barely has enough time to work on his own personal projects. So I guess this means I find someone else that makes the unit, have someone try their hand at making one...or just simply forgo the unit and go direct prop drive. Dang it. He did also mention that he has a new in the boxes DS Mustang just like the one I am going to be building. He states he needs to sell it..."AGAIN". (What ever that means and in what ever capacity) Guess I will see what he wants for it. One never knows....right?

Part of your information is correct. Originally the CARF Mustang had the 3 cylinder. Later came the four cylinder. This is one of the 4 cylinder models. Clocked at 190 mph.
If you go to YouTube and type in CARF Mustang Kolm engine, there are about nine million videos. Oh and also do a search on Kolm Galloping Ghost.
Man o man another great video, you are completely ruining my out look on model aeroplanes. Here I am looking at aeroplanes that just are out this world and would just about do any thing to have one, can you imagine standing at the field with the radio in your hands and flying that mustang. And now I have to go down to my workshop and fix my 20cc Edge. Just lost all my enthusiasm. Need to get a big ass mustang. All kidding aside really enjoying this thread.

That should not be a problem one for you and one for son. Could you just imagine to two of them side by side coming across the deck at full speed.

That dream is a dream he and I have had since we started flying. It isn't anything for us to take off side by side, play tag or follow the leader or do Nascar racing in the sky with our 100cc Pilot planes. We've flown together so much, we can almost read each others minds. We will set up an approach together and usually follow each other in to "wheels stopped". Our style of flying pretty much mimics one another. And when it comes to putting his plane within six inches in a hover next to mine, I trust "No One" as much as I do @Shayne Epley . To put two big ass, lovingly and painstakingly..."exspensive" radio controlled warbirds side by side in formation from rollout to magnetos off... what a thrill and a memory for both of us! Hopefully we'll capture it on film one day.

After lovingly and "respectfully" playing with my buddies 240 (4) cylinder, I knew in my heart I "needed" a Kolm. I also knew one day I would just have to bite the bullet, swallow hard and make the call. And now, I realize it wasn't so hard to make the call after all. Just means I won't be buying any more planes, bad ass red heads, servos, graphics, covering, props, spinners, fuel tanks, batteries, Pepsi, cheeseburgers, groceries, little dog doggie food, nights out on the town, (like I even still do that sort of thing-lol), and many other assorted lifes pleasures for a veeeerrrryyy loooonnng time. Lol. But worth it in the long run. I am so excited I can hardly contain myself. Still have to decide if I'm going to order the factory starter. I highly doubt a few ounces will make or break the ability of that beautiful engine to yank that Mustang around like a rag doll.
Yeah, love my dubs! But just tell me, and make me believe you wouldn't cheat on a red head to have this sexy blonde?

There is also the scale engine support I need to consider. Makes mounting these beasts a breeze. Plus, which fuel pump to buy. My friend is using the new programmable pump on his Kolm, Valach and Moki's. Spools up with the throttle advancement. Lots to consider, but the biggest bite is now taken. Hope I can swallow it. Lol
