Scale Don Smith P-51 Mustang

I like 'em "BIG"!
I think both of you should share photos of these awesome full scale versions with those of us who aren’t as lucky!
Heck ya. Why not? I am certain I can get over to the Warhawk Museum this week. I can get some photos of the P40 and the "B" Mustang. But getting over to Boise is another story. I can get over there ok. It is just a matter of getting in touch with the owner of the "D" and him having time to come over to the Hangar to let me photograph her. I bet if I looked hard enough on my many hard drives, I could find some photos of it. That is "IF" I can get my other sickly pc's to start. I will see what I can do. wink-and-smile-smiley-emoticon.gif

I did have the chance to visit a restoration shop in Idaho Falls a few weeks ago. Was drooling!!! Same group who built Berlin Express...

Ferocious Frankie has always been one of my favorites. I built a Top Flite Red Box about 8 years ago but never flew her. Added retracts and tail gear. As usual, I just felt he was too heavy to even risk. So he became a ceiling hugger in the plane room. LOL

This is the red box I built about a million years ago.

Maybe I will do this one again. But then there is Grim Reaper also. And all those other gorgeous-looking schemes to do. Hey, I have a great idea. Maybe we should have another covering scheme contest!

Hey Rob,

If you are going full bore scale with your big Stang, I have access to a full scale restored P-51D about 45 minutes from my house. If you need any detail pictures, I'd be glad to get them for you. I can get pictures of anything you need as long as I can get it from the ground (I am not able to climb on the plane). . . . . . :big_yes: Just give me the word and I'll go on a field trip for you. I'm always looking for excuses to visit the museum so I'll be more than happy to go. . . . . :way_to_go:.

Now hurry up and get that Velox done. . . . .

Wait what? Where at? That meens its not too far from me.
