It's very similar to K&B paint your right i remember getting a headache from the fumes when my dad and i were painting our Formula 1 racing planes.
Its very durable paint for sure, my dad and i whiched to PPG paint in the late eighties and in the nineties , we found the prime in PPG to superior , better coverage with less build up of prime and the paint was great . It was more cost effective to use the PPG paint as the K&B paint got to be very expensive compared to PPG .
I do remember spraying a least two to three coats of primer , it just takes four hours to get a good coverage without pushing it and getting runs .
My father and I were painting three airplanes in 1983 in June in the garage , we weren't wearing masks , after finishing the next day my Dad was complianing of chest pains so off to the Emergency he went . After three days he was released and the chest pains went completely away with no major signs of heart damage or heart attack .
We found out three years later when reading R/C modeler they talked about the side effects from these chemicals (Isocinates ). They can mimic a heart attack sypthoms and leave your body with out a trace .
Very potent chemical in these paints , after we started to wearing masks all the time and never had another issue with these paints
I like the Preval spray bottle are they pump or is air used to spray the paint .
