IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

Just finished making the skins for one wing. Plan is to make a total of 8 skins, for 4 wings, then I will adhere them to the foam using West Epoxy and vacuum bagging technique. Once all the skins are done, I will post pictures.

There are different ways of doing this, and I have done it in many different ways:
1. One way is to use masking tape, and tape all the pieces together and not use any edge glue at all. (done this many times).
2. 2nd way, is to edge glue with thin CA, and then sand joint down.
3. Is to use masking tape, open the joint, place some titebond glue in, close the joint, and then let it cure for a good 24 hours or so. If you handle it sooner than this, or at least, in my hands, it falls apart.

I am doing a combination of all of the above.

But, something else I learned, if you do not have tight joints, when the time comes to put it thru the vacuum process, glue (epoxy or PU glue) will seep thru, and bond the shuck to the sheeting.

So I'm guessing your liking the bagging method. Might get you to help me out with sheeting the wings on this Cap Terry donated to me if you are interested. I'm still debating to build or not to build.

Great to see you getting back on this Cam. Lost momentum on mine and other hobbies taking up slices of my time... hopefully seeing you make some progress will get me back in the game!!

I have vacuum bagged several wings for the past year. I would recommend gluing the edges then sand it and bag it. Not gluing the edges will cause you a lot of work unless you have a fancy machine that you can edge sand all the sheets at once tape it and bag it with in a short time. Just my humble opinion.
