This thread will be for the assembly of the Hangar 9 Extra 300X I was fortunate to win here on GSN.

My plan is to assemble it as I collect parts. It may unfortunately take a while with cash being tight, especially around the holidays, so bare with me.

I'm also going to repost the pics I've posted in the other thread just to have them all in one place.

Tonight I did some test fitting of the DA120, headers and pipes and spinner. The headers that were thrown in with the engine deal look like they'll work great if I can fix them.

The wooden spacer blocks that were included with the kit are too long for the DA120, so I think I'm going to get a 1" Blazing Star mount or something similar. I also think that a 4 1/2" spinner might be too small. I have a 4 1/4" that I tested and I just don't think the 4 1/2" is going to look right. Decisions, decisions.

I received a package from Extreme Flight today, a Blazing Star mount, and a 5" carbon spinner with an aluminum backplate.

Hangar 9 recommends a 4 1/2" spinner, but that looked way too small to me. I think the 5" fits it pretty well. I'm a tad concerned at how much right thrust is built in. I need to take some time and measure it some time.

The guy I bought the DA120 from threw them in. They're not bent anymore.
