Good to see you making progress. Once they hit their feet, it seems like it is all down hill from there. I have a simple suggestion regarding your carb and the center hole in your firewall. I am wondering...do you need the hole there for clearance for the choke butterfly? If not, (which I usually plugged or did not cut open) a 1/2" or more gap between the back of the carb and the firewall is usually more than sufficient "open air space" for the carb to feed good. I can't see the back of the carb in relation to the firewall so I am just making a guess. If you have the clearance for the choke butterfly with enough air space around the back of the carb., I think I would just plug or block off that center hole.
