I don't mind holding your tail dude.....

Yah that doesn't sound right.

But I hate not being able to start it without asking someone for help. I felt bad, every time you sat down I asked you for a hand. But I wanted to fly!

Plane restraints is something the club I'm in has a couple of at each field. I did fabricate my own recently though as a couple other local clubs don't.

Our club has a bunch of the stands for small planes. Or medium sized you can start against the gaps in the railing, they have added foam padding. But I have never seen any tail restraints or any options for giant scale planes.

We have some of these at each field and I made one just like it. Have seen it hold a couple different 40% airframes. Has a spike about a foot long that you push into the ground. The two uprights are just sitting on a post so you can pull them off once the plane is started.

Yeah I dont have access to the tools to make stuff like that anymore. But I found a guy on FG that makes and sells them. They are pretty nice and are folding one way. I should have it tomorrow.

Our club has some pipes driven in the ground that you slide conduit wrapped with a pool noodle in. Very quick and easy to use. With a wider spacing it works great on the wings too.

Well I got some good IMAC practice on Sunday. But had some issues on he last two flights. My engine died on both flights but I made good landings so no issues there. When I got it home I pulled the carb off to check for trash. That's when I noticed that the firewall was separated from the motor box. One screw was missing on one side and the other screws were loose. All the dowel pins on the top were broke. I think the original builder glued it in with an elmers glue stick. Because it separated clean. No wood breakage.

So I made a new firewall and got it installed this afternoon. Waiting on the epoxy to set and then tomorrow I'm going to add some epoxy fillets on the back side to help it tie in better to the hardwood rails. I'm also going to pin the top and sides with some hardwood dowels.

I used 9mm, 7-layer plywood. Glued in with 30-min epoxy. Screwed from the front to hardwood rails.
