The ES pipes are sweet. They are not a true tuned pipe, just scavenges and doesn't have the rear cone. Still make good power, but tend not to be quite as peaky as a tuned pipe.

Xactly, then combined with no reed valves it should be nice and smooth. First time with pipes for me because I can't stand the mid range "pipe" effect. Drives me nuts

Got the hole cut in the firewall.

The JMB mufflers just barely fit without needing a relief cut. The stacks also lined up with the DLE stack holes in the cowl... only needed to be elongated 1/2" towards the front... not phi beta kappa, but not too bad.

ZDZ includes aftermarket set screw type arms for the choke and throttle. You have to remove the Walbro stock arms. @Tavis said to grind off the end and pull the arms, so I did.

Next Tavis said you're still going to want some spring tension on the butterfly rod so cut the spring down to two coils, so I did.

Tavis said to use some force to put the aftermarket arm on, but I didn't. haha I noticed the top was distorted and I just drilled it out. You can also see that I extended the aftermarket arm to get some resolution.

I made flat spots for the two set screws for each arm. I used Zap RED locktite on them. And, I used a socket head screw on one side (and the included set screw on the other side) of each arm.

I have a lot bigger hole in the firewall than you could have under ideal circumstances. My problem was that I glued in the firewall for a DLE on 3/4" standoffs (so the mufflers wouldn't hit the firewall). And, then changed over to the ZDZ, which ideally you would mount directly to the firewall. Those 3/4" standoffs put the carb in the firewall... needing more relief, i.e., a bigger hole.

Worked on the throttle and choke servo setup...

I get 140/140 end points on my throttle servo with this setup... best case resolution. :)
