Wow, with the fantastic work you've done in the past I'll be sure to watch this thread in anticipation of a really unique giant!

BTW...any particular reason this one 'won't be' powered by gas?

certainly interesting but not being a fan of any 3D stuff, I will pass, but thanks for the confidence in me to be able to do this

Probably has to do more with precision than anything else. Having a retractable lower vertical is something nobody sees and will be truly unique. Would get a lot of attention if you did have any interest in it. Either way, your builds a re a joy to follow!!

Protection Mechanism

good question, but being I had purchased the large (100cc electric motor) for another project that didn't pan out, I will use in this one . but the way the airplane is built, I can always revert to gas later if I so please or can afford LOL
