Okay, I will try it on a old tail of a plane I have sitting at home. Okay, sounds like a plan.

If it is epoxied I'd just use a dremel to cut it out. Try to keep your cutting to the material you actually want to remove and go slow. I don't THINK acetone will hurt the ultracote.

Don't use plywood for elevator joiners, it has no torsional strength. If you cant find some phenolic, use "rock maple". Many hobby shops sell it for engine mount material, or almost all lumber yards should carry it.

Yeah I just used some of that wood for the engine mount in my lamyak profile...its more like rock than maple!

Forecast winds today are 15mph, but I'm heading out anyway!

Plan to fly: 89 Slick, 72 Extra maiden flight, 48" Yak and 48" EPP Extra.

Should be "sporty" for the little guys

The extra just gives the wind a big middle finger and keeps on flying, so you shouldn't have a problem. Good luck!
