I like 'em "BIG"!
I ran out of steam last night so I was not able to post anything. So I am going to get it done now before my git up and go, is done git up and gone.
I got started on the covering ironing last night. I was only able to get the stabs/elevators and one wing taken care of before I ran out of steam. But they turned out pretty nice. I start with a lower heat on my iron and hit all the seams first. I want to make sure them little suckers are not going to come up when I bring the heat up for the rest of the wrinkles.
Starting with the stabs/elevators was going to be a bit of a task, considering this plane has sat in storage for roughly two years untouched.
I do like the fact the hinge lines are sealed. A slight bit more caution is required here as too much heat will pull the seams right out of the hinge line. She is quite the wrinkled plane huh? LOL.
I did have to resort to using my heat gun on the open structure and the covered sheeted surfaces. Too many wrinkles that just would not heat properly with the iron. But getting it uniformly heated, they dissipated very well.
I have these set to the side for now. After all the shrinking is done, I will go back to them to wire them and servo them up.
