Went out alone as I couldn't wait to try the smoke on my 104 slick, I have never flown with smoke so Im sure i had a Joker grin on my face when I dropped in on the run way in hover and smoked myself till I had to fly out as i couldn't breath, well the excitement was over when I realized I had run out of smoke oil in 5 min and when i landed the plane looked like a snot rag, gona run a BEC on the 2s and cut the voltage down to 5.1 V and see if it will work any better next time.

Did you slave the pump to your throttle servo? @Shayne Epley has the same setup. As he advances the throttle, the more it pumps. You can also use your EPA to turn the pump down. Don't know if that helps Justin. Hope you can get it dialed back. Smoke is so cool.

Yea I cut it back to the point that it wouldnt come on then went up 1% until the pump kicked on as my lowest setting and this is still a little much for even my highest setting, Im hopping that dropping from 8.4 volts to 5.1 will allow the pump to run slower and pump less at its lowest setting it seems to work like I plan bench testing but Im worried about using a BEC to reduce power that I am stealing from a spare CH in my Smart fly causing an issue so I need to post that question and get a little feed back. But other than that It rocked lol we have a road about 100yards behind us and i noticed that I was causing issue with traffic slowing when i was testing the pump and blinding drivers so I decided to just do it at home lol.

Hmmm....slowing traffic? You're doing it right then.
Keep me posted on how the lower voltage works. It would be awesome if you can get the smoke you want with out it looking like a....yes @49dimes I'm going to say it, glow (shudder) plane.

@stangflyer You would be proud of me! ALL me glow engines are tucked away on the shelf. I have solely dedicated myself to getting my beautiful gassers in tip top flying order! YS I will sell them for gasser RC goodies.

Thanks, unfortunately the DLE is telling me something...... Last time out I landed with a sputter and when starting it actually kicked back slightly on my paint roller chicken stick. Turns out I'm pretty certain my ignition is smoke so no joy with the Viper tonight. I keep a spare on hand so I'll need to swap that out ASAP. DA120 will go in before next season anyway so no biggie.

@ericb and I having a little fun tonight. Thanks @thelaw for the pics, vids still loading. Lori shot my Edge most on our twin flight because we wanted to show the engine but we have to do that again with some dual harriers, death-slides, etc. Good time.

Not real exciting but I got a couple of flights in with the T-28 and coreman yak. Considering it rained 12 straight days here any flying is good flying.
