Sunday was a perfect day for flying. Spent the while day at the Rolla Modelers field in Rolla MO. I think it was the largest turnout we've ever had on a non-event day. Had a great time. Even did a little BBQing. What made it even better was the fact that my wife and daughter joined in the fun!

We had crosswinds and patches of rain, even though the weather folks said no rain. It would be calm for a moment then boom the rain and winds would come. The temps were really nice though - a bit cool for this time of year.

Can not believe it leaving for JoeNall and still have not been able to get out to the field to fly. Went to the field to see how it was well it is a swimming pool. Only the tips of the grass is sticking above the water. And we have not been able to cut the grass jet it is mess I guess it will have to be looked after when we get back from JoeNall.

Few pics from yesterday's fun in the sun. My wife, daughter and @Decal Dennis tried to kill the Red Baron. But it didn't work! It still flys. Long live the Red Baron!

Went flying but not to the field we decided to try and go float flying with all this rain. Well it was hilarious, the ground around the small like was so water logged we got stuck up to our axles before we could react. We spent the rest of the time trying to get back to road. Luckily one of us had four wheel drive truck. So work on the truck to get it back to the road And then he pulled the rest of us out. And worst of all we never got a flight in.

Going out for my first time of the year tomorrow. The club has been trying to pass all kinds of new rules, so hopefully I won't break too many of them just by leaving the ground.

We had an "L" shaped field with tons of shade trees behind the flight line which was awesome. It sounds like they cut down a bunch of the trees and are now even making noise about getting rid of the "L" shape layout. @pawnshopmike and @Decal Dennis have been there and I'm sure they would agree we had a pretty nice setup. Tomorrow I'll get to see just how bad they screwed it up. They even dropped one of the trees on the Quonset hut and smashed the roof in.
