Yes I would agree that the best pilots fromnall over the world Canada USA Italy Mexico Japan and Austrailia were there .All of them were justhappy and excited to be Invited and qualified to come to this Event . They have annouced that there will be a 2018 TAS at Tucson this year , it doesn't always happen usaually every two years put i guess the sponser's provided enough cash for this year's event plus a couple of private donates have help things along .Thanks for that I guess it is the best of the best there. Did you drive down or fly down to the competition. Man it is a long way for me about 32 hours it is almost 2300 miles. But I guess once is always nice to do. Probably would have to have a pocket full of cash because there is probably a lot nice things to buy for aeroplanes. Never heard about the new radio from power box. Interesting the comment about interference on 2.4 I have never had interference but at JoeNall I thought I did, there is talk about it especially amongst the jet boys. At one time I thought I had some but not sure I landed and got very apprehensive. But you know at JoeNall there could 1000 radios on at once and everyone on telephones it must a very noisy place for the rc hardware to operate in. Thanks for review on the Tuscan show.
For me to drive it would be along two day drive to Tucson 2600km so i flew down for only $600 and change and rented a car for ten days from Phoniex about $1000 Cda for the ten days down there not bad. I'm thinking if i go this year i would pull the Airstream down and camp at the site , just have to get a generator for the A/C in the trailer .
There wasn't as many kits to purchase but Extreme flight had some and i didn't see any PAU kits . Also Jtec Radiowave brought some kits for guys who ordered them and even Dalton didn't have kits avaiable . Of course DA had agent and Extreme as well as RC Depot and a DLE dealer was also there on friday .
What was told to me (Mr Powerbox himself) is that in Europe the frequency space is half as wide as in North America so the radio has alot narrow tolerances and they require the 900mhz as a secondary signal transmitter . The Powerbox radio has to Lithium batteries that can last eight hours of flying with WiFi capacity very nice feel to it , i'm using their ignition cut off box works faultlessly . The owner to told me that when they designed the new transmitter if he couldn't understand how the menu and anything worked he sent it back to the enginners to develop it easier .
