The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Got all repair and painting done earlier so I built this in the shop tonight. I call it the Cub Club :happy:
Once all the yellow paint has dried for 48 hours I will lightly brush satin clear poly over it to match the sheen of the original paint on the plane. I did this with the landing gear and it worked pretty good getting an almost perfect match.

Well boys it has been a long frustrating day for me and a lot traveling back and fourth to the print shop with nothing to show for all the work. It seems that no mater what I do at home with the PDF the machine at the print shop sees it as 8 1/2 by 11. He can expand to 36 inches but when it prints it is bad. The lines are very thick and the scale is of. Example 16 inches is printing at 14.75 so I am having my difficulties. Can not find anything on google to help so it going to take some time to figure out.
That's odd. I've had PDFs without any problems. I do always add a circle on the sheet in a certain size so I can check the accuracy of the print.

There is a freeware program called cutewriter that acts like a printer but outputs as a PDF file. I use that a lot, just make sure it's set to full size and maintain aspect ratio.

And it tastes even better but I don't recommend potato's shot on to the sandwich. Potato chips on the side and a couple of pepperoncini's :) .

Oh! .......Where you talking about the plane? Cause that sandwich filled my pie hole really well. Cant tell there was ever a sandwich now :D.

Thanks buddy.....:laughing:.

Oh happy day! ooooh happy daaaay! Ya'll remember that song? I could not help singing it tonight. Got off work a little early so I could rush home. Cause I had me a surprise headed to my door. Hmm....says you? Well, I will make it easy. I did go head and trade off the Cessna. Couple of reasons first. Biggest of course is it is just not my style right now. I am sure it would be in a few years. And at that time, I will get a TMMY 150" powered with a big four stroke or something. Second reason? My friend that wanted it got very dead set on having it, so he sweetend the pot. No, I did not get the big Cub. What I did trade for however was a brand new in the box...(so new and untouched the plastic had not even been pulled away from the parts) Yay go me. Hee hee.... Oh yeah, so excited I didn't say what it is. I know....maybe not what I normally get, but a CMP 50cc RED BULL Scheme Edge 540. From what I can tell, it looks to be a really nice ARF. I am betting some of you out there would know more about this plane than I. And so I may be turning to you for input. Also, I was given a brand new in the box DLE 55. Never been out of the box. Yes!! And along with that, I very nice wrap around Pitts style muffler. And if that was not enough, he also threw in the MZ24 that my son sold him last fall. So the plane, the DLE 55, the muffler and the radio. So Oh happy day. LOL.

And something else to be excited about. My little p.o.f. Twisted Hobbies Edge is now flight ready. Wee haa!!! Now if I could just get a little decent weather to go take of the Edge....(get it? Edge).... I am sure I would feel much better.

Hey Rob let me know if the air foil on the wing is thin like Pilots V2. Also what are the stated spec's.....WS, WT etc.... etc.....

@stangflyer
I have not taken any of it out of the box yet, So I can not say yet about the airfoil. However according to the placard on top of the box lid, it is supposed to build 16-17 lbs., with a wing span of 86". Just an inch shy of the Pilot. I will see if I can get you a photo of the wing Kelly.

Been a bit MIA lately. Busy with work and family and a 66 mustang. My 12 year old son has been wanting a 65-68 mustang or a 67-68 Camero. I was able to negotiate my 66 Mustang back from the guy I sold it to many years ago. It’s been sitting in a barn for 20+years. It’s pretty thrashed but going to do a restomod on it. Have to say, have never seen my son so enthused! He has been reading the restoration books and translating that to tearing it apart. I did a minor restoration on it in 1989 (so its coming back to me o_O) haha. Pretty proud dad that my son is wanting to work with his hands and is learning some great life skills! Now if I could only translate that to an RC plane or two, hehe.
