Following the two of you building war birds again brings back some old memories. How true it was always a battle getting everything into the plane there was never a concern is neat but can I get it all in and will nothing rub or get pinched.

I can't take much credit because my buddy did most the work. But it has some light bulbs burning out in my brain as to how to do a neat and clean install with some cool factor. I may just have to do something about it :).

My primary engine for years was my 3W-106, choked, it will pop in 4 or 5 flips, then 3-5 flips and it's running. Not always but generally. My new DA120 seems to need 10 or more flips under choke and a similar number to start. Don't know why but it appears the DA needs more. Either engine though is very reliable.

Odd. Both of my DA120's started very easily. I rock the crank (by spinning the spinner by hand) back and forth a handful of times until I can hear the carb suck fuel in with the choke on, then I hit the ignition and flip it once. After it pops, I'll do the same again about 20 times and flip it again and they always start right up. Getting fuel to the carb is the key to easy starts, and long lines and/or funky fuel fittings can prevent that from happening.

Mine started much easier Sunday. Once warmed up, it popped on 1st flip then 3-5 flips after choke released. Fun weekend, flew a lot.

Was able to get the "Avanti Cam" squared away so it will video record with the picture right side up :). Had enough slack in ribbon to flip the lens around. Cut a small notch in the fuse bottom and a little hot glue got it where it needed to be :big-grin:. Did not even have to touch the electronics module inside the fuse. Love it when corrective action goes smooth and simple ;).

That’s good now I do not have stand on my head to watch the video, because I can not turn the IPad upside down it keeps correcting it self.

Ok made some progress on the rebuilding of the 20cc Edge that had small encounter with the ground. Most of the fuselage has been removed and it will be turned in to half breed profile. The fuselage is now 2 1/4 wide from the stabilizer to the motor bulkhead. Made the two front sides of the fuselage the motor mounts and the 2 ribs that the wing will connect to.

You overthink everything Kelly. All you had to do is fly inverted.
