Just couldn't resist the urge to prime. It was sunny, by the time I got everything set up, it started to drizzle, moved from the backyard to the garage. Have some work to do on the corrugations, the primer brings out all the problems!

Have the seat molds completed, the seat back is ready to lay up while the seat bottom mold is curing. Will start waxing later today. As a note the seat back 3D printed version used for the plug weighted 166 grams, I hope the molded version are much lighter. This molds are much lighter than normal so that they be flexed to help ejecting the part. I think the prototype will be two layers of 1 1/2 ounce and 0ne layer of 4 ounce cloth. Haven't decided how I will finish the seats yet. The Joe Ann Fabric store near me is closing if not already closed, need to check the Walmart for fabric. Might get out the sewing machine!

Spent a few days in Clearwater FLA, time to get back to work. I had the seat back halves laid up before I left and joined the halves last night after returning home. Did it a little different since there's little to no taper on the the sides. Popped the half parts out of the mold, washed, waxed, and applied PVA to mold halves, once dry the parts were put back into the mold. It was done this way because it was easier to break the seal between the PVA and finished part. A microfibers and epoxy mixture was applied to the joint and the mold was closed. This morning the mold was opened and the back was removed. Final weight was 49 grams compared to the 166 gram plug the mold was made from. Thankfully the back seats will be lighter since there is no back and part of the side will be removed. This back will become a back seat, the front seats will have a little foam added to support the hinges.
Thinking using matte peel ply to finish the seats, thinking red and white with light gauge wire to simulate beading.
Weather here in southwestern PA is yet support any priming. Might get some done on Monday depending on when the rain is coming,

I remember making 3D Printed baffles and was amazed how much lighter the fiberglass versions were that I redesigned and created from molds. Close to half the weight savings going glass.

I'm sure it is due to the fill material. The seat bottom is even more drastic, the plug weighted 177 grams, the glass version weights 37 grams. I have two seats completed and the total weight of both is less than the weight of the seat back plug.
Weather forecast looks good today, will hopefully get the wing primed and the second coat on the parts previously primered. Almost time to get the fuselage back on the bench. Think I may make another dash cover, third time is a charm!
