Yippee! What the postman brought

Postman brought me some fancy brakes for the Mustang, a custom mask, and on Saturday I'm playing postman to go pick up some wheels and tires for the car.

While postman didn't bring it, I scored a Hosteller 30% Chipmunk kit yesterday for $100.00. This is a complete kit that includes the sticks and sheeting, $425 cost. I already have the plans that I purchased at Toledo several years ago. Just might be the next build? I need the cowl, pants, and canopy yet and a set of Robart struts.

That's awesome! Looking forward to seeing this one.
Do you have a source for fiberglass parts?
If not, maybe this company would have what you need. I have one of their cowls for a 33% Gee Bee and it's gorgeous.

Fibertechnmore does not offer the items however National Balsa does. The canopy is $89 and cowl/pant set is $125. Kind of odd since Fibertech does offer so many of Wendal's designs. Need to decide what engine to use. Been flying my 38% Christen Eagle with an old ZDZ 80RV and JMB can, once you get it running it's really smooth and sounds great with acceptable power. I see they are currently offering a 97cc single, that would allow use of a single can. Conventional wisdom would say just put the DA 120 in and be done.

I checked their site out, I know several years ago they offered a 100" Chipmunk kit, I didn't see it listed any longer. I'm pretty sure I had seen the prototype at the Toledo show, their booth was in the last row of the show floor, you know the row that became the quad race course!!!

At any rate need to get the Champ finished before I can start the next build, the Chipmunk is high on the list.

Very interested in your chipmunk had one a long time ago, always liked the plane had from Dynaflite great plane but one piece wing was a pain. Also if I built another it would be the Pepsi version with the wide cowl that narrow cowl was a pain nothing would fit inside. I would like to build another one. Do you think the 30% one hand could handle 100cc.
Built a couple of Hostellers planes the drawings are not accurate at all, needs a lot of extra work to end up with a nice plane.

The plans show a 120 CC engine. Plans call for 80 to 120. The plan shows the cowl 12 1/2" wide, the top view half section shows a 120cc (Assumed to be a DA?) left jug with 1/4" clearance between the cowl and spark plug cap.
This is a three piece wing with box spar joiners.
