I agree with you about snakeskin the only thing I do differently is i also take off the servo wire connector then connect the pins and heat- shrink the wires. And it is easy to put all back to how it was if needed.

That’s a good idea right there. Just eliminate the connector all together

Clips are a bit of a pain to slip inside the snakeskin, but I typically put a piece of painters tape around the clip to avoid snagging the skin.
Primary place I’m using clips is at each wing servo connection on the Python.
Was using a box and tie wrap over the connection, but decided to try this different style.
Haven’t found a good method of mounting solid connectors for the lower wings, but I’m still studying that one.

I’m really liking using the MR30 plugs for all those type of connections. It’s going to be a new standard for me.

There are also locking connectors from Hanson hobbies that would work too if it’s more than one connection.

New batteries arrived today. Amazingly quick service direct from Pulse.
Ordered last Friday and arrived today by USPS.
I wanted more capacity and now have the PowerBox, which opened up the option of 2-cell LiPo.
These should do the job, and then some!

Not sure had look around but could not find it. But could you do me a favour, take a picture of a standard JR connector next to the MR 30 connector

I have 2 bags of those clips. Use them just like Nick, everywhere I can’t use heat shrink. We call them TDTs. Short for, hand me one of “those damn things”. They do tend to hang up pulling them through a wing, but well worth the effort.

Three trips to the flying field and 10 total flights. Still don’t have the elevator/flap mix dialed in. I set the lowest flap at 85% of total throw and with 25% down elevator mix, it still balloons too much to be useful. Mid flaps and 15% works great. Realize that this is the first time I have flown in nearly 3 years, so it’s taking me awhile to get back into any kind of piloting skill. At least I was smart enough (or nervous enough) to enlist an instructor! Thanks Maurice!

The Valley View 40 twin is a great choice for this plane. It hadn’t been started in over 6 years and even then didn’t have an hour of run time. Still not dialed in just right, but on the last flight, it hand started on the first flip.

I can’t give you a real good flight report. Because of my lay-off from flying, I’m still behind the plane a little, and focusing on not getting into trouble. But I have managed most of the maneuvers in the basic pattern sequence. As with any high wing tail dragger, you need to be pretty good with the rudder to keep it straight during takeoff. During vertical maneuvers, I noticed a tendency to yaw to the left, making a stall turn to the right difficult. That’s likely a setup issue and poor piloting. I could hold right rudder on the up line, pull the throttle back and it would tend to flop over on its back. Again, most likely setup and poor piloting. Landing is fun. Without the flaps, it won’t slow down! It’ll just go right on by. Which makes a dead stick landing a walk in the park - literally. :) I can’t tell you about landing with full flaps yet, but on mid flaps, it settles in nicely for either a wheels landing, or that perfect 3-pointer. Next time out, I’ll have the mix set right and I’ll let you know how that goes. Maybe I can get a flight video.

Was sleepy surfing the other night and came across a post for these little beauties.
$10 for 30 clips, which should last me a while.
Great fit, and better design than the ones I have been using previously.
Aero-Works were the first ones to introduce these clips years ago. I still have many and in different colors. They work great
