So with all the Christmas festivities over, I managed to get the top wing finished. So now with both wings done it's time to move on to all the details.

I fully intended on building both N struts last night but only managed to get one done because I got side tracked making flying wires that I'm not even close to needing yet lol. I guess I'll be making the other side tonight ;)

I made the N struts out of 3 laminates of 1/8" lite-ply that I cut into 1/2" wide strips and laminated them so that the joints overlapped each other. I then sunk 4-40 blind nuts into the back side and started to round them off, I'm not going to put an airfoil shape to them just rounding the corners off.

Hey, it kinda looks like a Krier Kraft!

N strut attach fittings and flying wire tabs. I haven't finished rounding the N struts yet, and the gussets will get contoured to look like fabric that the full scale had.

Inboard flying wire tab. The inboard Landing wire tab will be a free piece that will be but under the rear cabane bolt like a washer. This way when I disassemble the airplane taking the rear cabane bolt out then undoing the outboard flying wire clevises will allow the wires will stay with the bottom wing.

I guess with all the spars in this wing you don't feel the need to make the flying wires functional. I'm sure the wings are plenty tough enough without them.

Yep, I'm sure the wires add a small bit of strength but they are just for show on this one. The wings are already like a tank and they are going to be covered with Sig Koverall which adds even more strength.

So my shop looks like I murdered a Smurf and when I blow my nose all I get is blue dust but I think I just about have the cowling plug carved.

Remember when I made the over confident remark that the cowl was just round and shouldn't be that hard? Yea........ I was wrong. lol

The next step will be to put some 1 oz. cloth on the plug with some epoxy, then use body filler and primer as needed to get it perfect and then make the mold.

Off we go into the wild blue foam board!

All the rings glued together and starting to carve.

I think I need to make the bottom scoop a little bit smaller but I think I have it!

Here's the rest of the pics,
