OUCH! Glad it wasn't worse. Electrics are like a loaded gun when they're plugged in.
We had an old guy at the field plug in his electric and either dropped the transmitter or fumbled it, I never heard the whole story, but the result was it shooting through the gap in the fence behind the flightline and taking out two other airplanes. Thankfully it did hit any people.

Now we have arming tables outside the fence lines which at least "should" keep people from terrorizing too many others.

These Wendel Hostetler plans were drawn back in 1979 or something like that.... the laser cut kit is cut from the plans... the plans were drawn using two heavy plywood sleave/spars for attaching the outer wing panels. Not a fan of that approach nor am I enamored with the 1/8" piano wire loop used to hold the wing to the fuse.... so, spent a good bit of today trying to come up with a better approach. Carbon wing tube and a little different way to attach the wing tube framing down to the fuse....

Got a few test pcs cut but I think this will work.... more to follow.

Taking the same approach with a 35% Hostetler Giles 202. Replacing the two boxed spars with a single wing tube, 3/8 x 3/8 upper and lower spruce spars with shear webbing.

Finished tweaking a Craftsman 10" radial arm saw I picked up this weekend off craigslist for $50! It had sat outside under a piece of plastic for the last month and we have had record rainfall so things were not working as they should. Took a couple of days soaking it in wd-40 to get it to move vertically, but it is working nicely now :) The next thing to do is wire it for 220 :)
