Made a small start emptied a bottle of medium CA into the plane. Anything and everything I could reach. One question to @AKNick what is your distance from the firewall to the front of the engine cowl, my measurement is right on 7 inches. Which means that from the firewall to the spinner backplate would be 7 1/16 with a 1/16 clearance between the spinner and cowl.

I'll have to get back to you on that. still working under the cowl

Well Nick I just cannot make up mind on which way I want to go, will it be an electrical motor or a DA60. So i have decided to keep my options open will drill the motor box for a DA60 and then build a electric motor dox that will fit the firewall and agomedate the electrical motor. So if I do not like the electrical motor setup I can remove the electrical motor and box and then just bolt the DA on to the firewall.
Shown below is the electrical motor box torn apart for measurements and to be used as a template for the new motor box.

Made an ignition shelf in the canister tunnel. Used welders glue to attach foam to the Velcro and shelf. It’s not going to wander anywhere now.

Finally put my elevator servos in place.
Be sure to wick some CA in there before you do this.
I need to figure out what I’m going to do for a receiver and batteries so I can make extension leads the right length.

I can’t decide for you! After running two 6S batteries in my 75” edge and 4-4.5min flight times on whimsy 3300 batteries I decided I’ll stick with gasoline on the bigger birds. Flight time is my #1 winning argument. However, since nose weight is encouraged, you can support larger batteries....
it’s nice to fly for the day on less than a gallon of gas.

Played with my tailwheel some more. Added my signature lol and revised some corners and edges. Took just under 3hrs to print. I print slow.

Talk about deflection! Pretty happy with my little wheel geometry.

Finally got the rudder cables set up. With a strait arm there is positive Ackerman. Tight at neutral and the pulling wire is taught. Still bugged me. I whistled up an offset arm and it did the trick. Always taught. The rudder outboard holes are over 3.5” apart. Wires cross in the middle. And I’m just under 3.5” so it sounds kinda right. The promodeler arm I’m using looks cool, but I’d go with another brand.
I used Berkley #60-80 fishing crimps, a couple drops of CA, and heat shrink.

You are so right that is my biggest fear. 4 or 5 minute flights are not what I am looking for but I have the electrical system on hand and do not own a DA 60 right now right now I feel like I am Caught between a rock and a hard place.
