As per page 10 of the manual found on this page, you use wood screws. If there are already holes there (and I assume there are, as it is used), if they are not already stripped out, give them a drop or two of thin CA, wait for it to cure, then just screw the motor on. If they are stripped, perhaps you can rotate the "X" mount a few degrees and re-drill...

A couple questions on the 48" EPP Extra.

I picked up a used airframe and need to install the motor and servos which leads me to a couple of questions:

Mounting the omega motor I didn't see blind nuts in the firewall and was unsure if it was a previous owner repair or if it's stock. If stock do you use appropriate bolts, flat washer, crush washer, and nut? Am I missing something?

On installing the tail servos any ideas on how to fish some drag through the fuse? Was thinking of trying a control rod with thread taped to the end and routing it from inside the front fuse back to the mounts and then pulling the servo wire through.

Any advice is appreciated.
If there is a big enough channel you just tie a small nut or bolt on to the end of a string. Drop it into the servo hole and tip the plane up till the weight gets to where you need it to be.

Thanks guys... I have tried to nut and string before and it worked well when it was fishing through a wing and there was a clear channel. EPP chanel seems really tight so I think the control rod or similar is the right bet.

Appreciate the pointer on the wood screws, etc. for the motor. Will check that out and keep you guys posted.

I read somewhere about a method that helps increase life of wheel pants but for the life of me I am not sure where I saw it? any one with information on their method or has a link to a "how to" please chime in

I've seen about 50 different ways to make wheel pants better.
From fiberglassing to adding a axle block. Which one are you referring too?

how about the top 5... LOL...

I have done the wood block before and worked somewhat okay...
I have done the fiberglass addition and it also worked somewhat okay...
what is the towel/CA thingy???

Paper towel instead of fiberglass cloth, CA instead of epoxy or polyester resin...essentially the same thing...:D Just materials that most modelers have in their homes/shops..

i took some solder fished it thru the channel attached the servo connector and used one hand to pull and my other hand to kinda guide/push it . worked like a charm for me.

You could also take them off and put em on a shelf in your shop. They will last a long time there.

Just kidding :)
